Power brake kit

My mom just purchased a 73 Charger, a car she has been after for years. It needs a new master cylinder, and I'd like her to have power brakes. I called SSBC because I've used them in the past and they have the parts but they said their kit is good for up to 1972. They didn't know why. I don't either. Any insight? Or a different company I should use? In terms of parts and repairs I've almost exclusively been around GM stuff for the last 15 years.

There is a non-power aftermarket master cylinder on the car now.

I would just keep it simple and good, slap some original stuff back on. No reason to go backwards, make it worse, and be disappointed

That's fine with me, but who has original stuff? I'd prefer that over most of the stuff I'm seeing online. The master cylinder that's in the car now is plastic and leaks right out of the top.
 
Correct me if I’m mistaken but didn’t the 73 come with power disc front brakes stock? Start looking for stock replacements.

Try a WTB ( want to buy, where to buy) in the wtb section. For original stuff
 
It sounds like perhaps the car had power brakes and someone put a aftermarket manual master cylinder on? I assume it has front disc/rear drum?
Most aftermarket brake parts for a 72 should fit on a 73. The ssbc kits I see listed are for converting front drum to disc...73 should've already had front disc..thats my best guess why they don't list 73 on their site. If you do have front drums by chance their pre72 kit could work or buy disc brakes spindles. If you already have front disc just get a new booster and master cylinder installed on it again.
