I have a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus, I need to replace the turn signal switch, I have removed the steering wheel, but there is a metal ring that I can't figure out how to remove. None of the videos on you tube show a ring like that. One thing that I saw said push in and turn counter clockwise, but it only pushes in a very small amount, and won't

Welcome from the central coast of Cal. We have some relatives in Lutz. On your question, someone may chime in for a quick answer. But, it's always wise to have the FSM[ factory service manual] available. You can get print or digital, whatever floats your boat. Me, I like paper. No need to worry about technology making it disappear in the ethernet.
Both can be had on Amazon.

A picture of the whole car would be nice but I guess an undressed steering column will do for now....

I think what you are looking at is the steering shaft lock plate. I'm a 69 so not sure on 71 but found this.

How do I get this big C clip on the steering coloumn and where does it go

Start a thread in the - "General Mopar Tech Discussions" unless someone else here knows a better forum to ask

You were correct, I went to the local Napa auto parts store and bought the lock plate tool and was eventually able to get the ring off. But as is usually the case I ordered the turn signal switch that Classic Industrie's said would be the correct one, but this one only has 6 or 7 wires and the one that I need has 11 wires. So once again we wait. Thank you for your answers.

Welcome and it seems everything is like that now.. i ordered a pair of speakers and they have sent the wrong ones 3 times now....

BTW.. if you are new to mopar (or even if you aren't) hit ebay or whatver and get a service manual.. they are very good to have
