Headed to Drag Week

Hitch is a Curt 12923. I modified it by cutting the crossbar loose and moving up about two inches because it was too low. Now it tucks up under the bumper. The bolt holes line up with holes already there. It's a class 2, which is way more than I need, but I figured over kill on a hitch isn't a bad thing.

Congrats on finishing, Bob. That’s an accomplishment in itself. As for the other guy asking how crowded this event is, it’s insanely crowded. Track time is minimal and you sit in the lanes most of the day. I first ran this event in 2006 and ran it a dozen times or so. We quit going after 2021 it was so big. There are many more drag and drive events that have been created to choose from that are much smaller and more enjoyable IMHO. Drag Week will always be the original and the epitome of drag and drive to me even though I no longer go.

Oh, I didn't realize this was a multi-track event. That's pretty cool. Congrats on getting some track time in and thanks for the photos and live report!

Got home Monday about 2:30. Total miles for the trip just under 3000. I think the car held up better than the driver, but I'll be ready to do it again next year. Average for the week was 13.1982 at 107.404mph. I ended up 8th in a class of 15, nine cars running at the end. I'd hoped for faster, but I just looked at last year and I was a full second and 15mph faster this year. So, progress was made.

Congrats! Hella impressed ! I think my junk might be quicker, but I KNOW it would never make 3000 miles! And neither would i !
Good job!

 :drinks: , as long as you enjoyed yourself
the rest don't matter, can make it quicker/faster,
but may sacrifice consistency & dependability, roadworthiness

maybe add a 150 shot of N2O,
(or 33% of what you current power levels are, is extremely safe)
a simple plate kit, under the carb
no harm no foul
do the pills/jetting that the N2O supplier suggests, don't be dumb
it's not hard at all
with a flowing return bypass reg. 5psi flowing,
& a dedicated electric fuel pump for the N2O alone (a Holley red is plenty)
try & maintain (cool or heat it) bottle pressure at 900psi,
will work great, it's easy peasy
you don't need a bunch of electronics,
a simple arming (safety) switch
& a activation button on your shifter or steering wheel
run all the wiring thru 30/40-amp Bosche Relays,
so only 12vt power to the N2O, is when the button is pressed & armed
put a simple purge valve 'inline T' of the N2O line before the activation solenoid,
purge before each use
keep the drivability & go faster at the track, like easily a second faster,
if tuned correct

makes for an extremely reliable & faster more fun street experience
especially when at the track, people will be surprised

I did it for decades on all my street cars,
& professionally on many of my race cars too
I had never had any engine issues because the N2O

don't believe all the hyperbole about N2O 'will blow your **** up'
it's a poor N2O tune & too much, is what will blow that **** up

again have fun
