Here's the boring story. I found a nice looking '62 406 G code Galaxie for sale at one of the consignment places for a realistic price. The vin and heads check out (salesman got me those) but he won't get me the block numbers. I tried three times very nicely and he told me he was too busy and had too many cars to put it on the lift.
Either he is just lazy and doesn't care, or he is trying to hide something.
Probably an engine transplant and he doesn't want to get into a pi$$ing match over numbers.
Google the VIN to see if it has been owned/sold by others in ads or auctions. Maybe pics of the block numbers show up in those ads/auctions and maybe more info from the current Seller's ad.

This rare model has showed up on Hemmings Motor News a couple/few times in the past. Maybe one of the ads has the same VIN of the car you're interested in. Check Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, and GAA auctions for past auction results too.
