1987 Shelby Charger GLHS for sale. This is serial# 0055 of 1,000 built at Carroll Shelby's facility in Whittier CA. This GLHS was originally sold new in Fresno California. Original 2.2 Turbo port fuel injected, intercooled engine, with original 5 speed manual transmission. Engine rebuilt to stock specs, with upgraded roller cam, a few years ago by previous owner. BRAND NEW, OE replacement clutch/pressure plate/throw out bearing. Along with BRAND NEW flywheel, and ARP flywheel/clutch fasteners/bolts, all recently installed. Newer clutch cable, and master cylinder in the last 2-3 years. Transmission fluid just flushed and replaced. Newer short throw shifter, and newer upgraded, stronger shifter rods installed. Mobil 1 synthetic 10W30 oil and filter recently changed.

Front brakes: New slotted and drilled rotors, new pads, new calipers, new lines, installed. Engine runs great. Transmission shifts great. Garrett Turbo has been upgraded by Turbos Unleashed. This car makes #14 lbs. of boost. Factory boost was #12 lbs. Carroll Shelby rated these cars at 175 HP @5300 RPM and 175 FT.LBS. torque @2,200 RPM. Car weight is about 2,400 lbs.

Quarter mile times, were in the 14's at over 95 MPH... when these cars were tested new.
With the subtle upgrades, this car should have well over 200 HP, but has not been dyno tested.
KYB struts/shocks. Original Koni's are gone. The car still retains original Centurion 15X6 " alloy wheels. Nitto Extreme 205/50/15" tires in good condition. 2-1/2" exhaust with cat converter deleted.

Interior: In good condition, and presents very well. Shelby installed leather steering wheel, and Momo shifter knob still in place, and in good condition. Dashboard is in good shape, no cracks. New carpet installed by previous owner.
All factory gauges work, also has after market oil pressure/boost/Tach gauges on driver side A pillar. Heater/wipers/lights all functional and working. A/C compressor is gone. Original AM/FM cassette stereo works great. Factory Sunroof operates as it should, with no problems. Missing headliner dome light. Original headliner in good condition.

Body: Original paint still on 80-90% of the car.
Direct Connection (metal) rear window louvers. Passenger side rear quarter panel, has been repaired and painted some time in the past. There is a small section of bondo, on the lower right quarter, in front of the wheel well. There are rock chips in the paint, blemishes, and a few dings too. Overall, the paint and body in good driver condition.
Undercarriage/floor in good condition and NO rot...some minor surface rust is present. Clean Carfax...No accidents reported.

As mentioned, the car runs/shifts great.
I have a binder of receipts, also comes with factory literature, Service Manual CD, and Shelby specific paperwork/owner's manual. I have a BRAND NEW in the box, complete Shelby GLHS stripe and decal kit...from Phoenix Graphics, that goes with the car too... along with a few miscellaneous items.
Clear title in my name.

$8,000 CASH...May consider MOPAR only trades...'68 to '72 Dart/Scamp/Valiant... MUST run and drive!...CLEAN 2 door cars only! Any trades...come to me. Serious only please.

A reminder, the original engine has been rebuilt...
The car runs/shifts/stops great...
Many new parts installed, some BRAND NEW...
It's a survivor, with mostly original paint.....
It's VERY RARE....one of only 1,000 built.

How many miles on the rebuilt engine? Was it rebuilt back to stock or modified? Did the turbo get rebuilt too.

The engine has about 1,000 or so miles since the rebuild by the previous owner. It's an all stock rebuild, except he installed a newer model roller camshaft. I don't know the cam specs. The Garrett turbocharger was re-worked and rebuilt by Turbos Unleashed. They did modify the compressor wheel during the rebuild. The car currently makes 14 lbs of boost. Factory stock was 12 lbs. of boost. The car runs strong... Just installed BRAND NEW clutch/pressure plate/throw out bearing/flywheel/ARP hardware. Transmission oil flushed and replaced, when the new clutch parts were installed.

Get in it and drive. It's ready to go. Unlike other cars I see for sale here, and elsewhere.
Take it to cruise nights, or a dragstrip, or
an auto cross track, and beat up on some Mazda Miata's, 5.0 Mustangs, and other junk.

Average condition Shelby GLHS cars are currently valued at $8k- $14k depending on mileage. I had it listed for $7,800 at a "discounted winter sale price"...
Now that warmer temps and summer is coming soon, price is now $9,500, which is STILL below current market value. It's #55 of ONLY 1,000 ever built... which amounts to an extremely rare vehicle.

If you haven't read the rules for advertising.....you should do it now. Thanks.

What "rule" did I break? I simply responded to Delta V question about price of my vehicle.
