Where did that goofy mirror come from?

Whether you've got a manual or a remote mirror, that should be a stud, not a screw, with a 1/4-20 nut that fastens to the stud from the inside of the door. The fastening holes are in the same location for both mirrors.

The part number on the base is 2486235. I bought it on here because it was a manual mirror as my car does not have the hole for the remote. It looks the same as your remote one except for the screw where the stud should be. I wonder if something is missing in there. Also the bevel where the scree goes in is clean chrome so it does not look like it was altered after the fact.

which would explain the holes being raised much more than normal

Must have rechromed it after the butchering. Mark looks like you get to add a hole for the remote.

can someone explain what Mopar was thinking? I had to dig up an original to verify....... why not put the stud at the end, in front of the cables?

look where the cables come out in relation to the big hole in the gasket........ :wtf:
