    Motor shutters at Idel.

So now the motor is back together and fired it up. The hydraulic lifters rattled a little then quitted down. It seems to shutter back and forth. Like a rough ideal but it take fuel and rpms go up but when letting off at idle again it starts to shake some. I don't remember it doing this before...

    No fire at spark plugs.

Ok so here it is. After working and trying everything even a new orange box. I still had no fire to the plugs. Took a couple of days to think things over. If everyone remembers I blew the top rad, hose off and it soaked everything under the hood. By the bulkhead connector there are two plugs one...

    No fire at spark plugs.

Just got my new orange box. Now after reading more into what wire goes to ground or negative on the coil. I see the black wire with yellow stripe should be on negative of coil. That is the one I put on the positive side. Think might have fried my orange box. Will know more tomorrow. Sure hope...

    No fire at spark plugs.

Been over all these same lines. I did clean the bulkhead connections with contact cleaner. It is strange. Drove the car in the garage before pulling the heads. Had a crack in one of the heads below the exhaust holes. Had to pull both heads to paint my shock towers over again due to paint was...

    No fire at spark plugs.

Recently removed the heads on my 383. Put everything back together and now have no spark. Know I hooked up my tack wire on the positive and moved it back to the negative side of coil. Replaced the coil thinking it might be bad. Showing low voltage at the coil. Tested the ECU and it test right...

    Pulling my A833

So, update. Now having a problem with getting my shift handle out of the hurst mechanism. It is the old style with the pinch plates to hold the handle in. Tried the feeler gauge down by the handle on the drives side but it just does not come out. Any help is appreciated.

Oil on intake mating surface- is this normal?

Must apply sealer on the head and China wall where the hold down bars are. Put Teflon pipe dope on your manifold bolts. U Tube the valley pan and intake in stall. There is a good video of doing this. Must run sealer in the crack at the head and hold down area of the block and go up the head...

    Pulling my A833

OOP'S. Sorry did not mention the console. My bad. It is an old age thing, I guess. Fixing to tackle it as soon as the motor is all back together after replacing the driver's side head that had a crack developed below the exhaust manifold. Pulled both head so I could paint the shock towers...

    Pulling my A833

So, need to get my A833 trans. out of my 69 roadrunner to seal replacement. Question is will I have to pull the shifter out of the car or can I just unbolt it from the trannie and work the trans. past it.

Forbes: How much does roof replacement cost in 2024?

Replaced my roofs with Galva loom. Covers more area quickly than shingles. High winds from a hurricane tore some shingles off my home and they were really brittle. Best move I have made. But each two his own. Maybe you live in a community where there are rules on what your roof can look like...

    Proper disposal of Old Glory

Thanks, Mike, for your question. Being a Vet myself not enough respect is given to any of our most honored and treasured symbols of our heritage. I still get a tear in my eyes when they play the national anthem and rising Old Glory.

One 383 cylinder head to be machined and gone through

Did not bother to even look. Just asked how much they took off the head and came home and started to put it all together and put it on. There are not that many machine shops out there anymore that work on our old stuff.

One 383 cylinder head to be machined and gone through

About 11 hundred. OUCH that hurt. Plus, the cost of head gaskets/intake and exhaust. That is separate. At least the shock towers are repainted and no blister spots where the paint let go from the primer. Still not that much room to get a touch up gun in the passenger side even with the head off...
