If it happens to be too tight where you have to force it, I wouldn't use it. When installed they need to turn freely without any drag.
When I press them into the end of the driveshaft I always tap the cross back the opposite way to relieve the pressure it took to press it in.

Shouldn't the hood ornament go on the center/front of the hood instead of on the fender?

I had one years ago on the farm. Picking up hay bales in the field I would just leave it in gear and walk along side of it. Top speed was probably about 45 mph in high gear. "L" head four cylinder.
I like to use the Wolf's Head Red grease. In my video I used a black Valvoline multi purpose grease and it wouldn't stay in the hub. It would leak out from under the bearing cap and all over the wheel. I changed to the red grease and haven't had any problems.
