On the 68 R/R I ran one of Eboogers HI Rev kits, never had a problem. On the BB Duster I did the HEI conversion with all used parts including the Accel 4 pin module. No problems either.
The 8202 will work BUT it is Vachina junk. I like a Mallory myself. Got tired of bring the MSD back to Oreillys. Leaking oil right out of the box, 3 times Sheesh.
For one thing yes Vachina crapola next they are not linear meaning move a certain amount for every gallon used. I have one from right Stuff and It seems to be the best of the bunch. Sourced over seas I am sure. At E it takes 9-10 gallons and goes a small bit above full. hella Reserve. I have...
I didn't have your problem but got tired of the lights getting dim and pulsing at low engine speeds, like at idle. I put a relay kit in it. Fixed my issue and it takes the load off the switch. Sure sounds like your switch is going south though. The Deoxit trick may work, good stuff I use on...
What you need or put the wire off condenser on a plug wire to charge it. Throw it to somebody you don't like, If it knocks them on their *** the condenser is probably good.
I had one of the Electronic style bought from I cant Rember who when I did the resto 8 years ago. It took a dump in Albuquerque 350 miles from home. Got one from Autozone and it has been good to go for about a year. Looks like crap so I may have to get the FBO.
Doing a painintheass harness now on my buddy's 52 Merc after he hooked up an Amp gauge the wrong way. At least the instruction book has come a long way. Did one on a 67 GTO a while back with Vintage air, Big Stereo ect. Go M&H
IIRC when I did the GM conversion on My 73 Duster I canned the BR and just tied the start and run together. Both wires come through the bulkhead from the Sw. A lag of voltage could indicate a Ign Sw going south. Wired to a mechanical relay would increase the lag IMO. An analogue volt meter might...
Easy Peasy Push the Sw and compressor get power. Regulates temp through TXV. Not like a newer cycling sw like my 92 Ram that are like Hens teeth. On the 69 Sw on gets ground through the throttle kicker. Now that would seem to defeat the Dist retard function if the idle screw wont controll the...
Had that CAP/ECS on my 70 Charger 500 W/ ac. It grounded the dist retard through an insulated curb idle screw on the carb. Did not have a kickup solenoid. Maybe it was a California thing? It was a Holley though. Where the AC compressor got its ground from I cant remember? My guess is through...
Nothing to fret about. 4300 here takes a little messing with but I run Holley's. The Dual Quad 383 63 Belvedere wagon W/ 1405s has been a learning experience. Tuned for My 4300 but going to Nevada @ 2200. We shall see.
Eddy carbs are calibrated @ sea level and are usually Fat from the factory. Get the ignition squared away like Beanhead said then start messing with the carb. I would get the Calibration kit and start leaning it out in small steps. A 0.98 primary jet is fairly fat, follow the Ed chart. The first...
I had one of the solid state VRs lasted about 3 years and out of warranty. Had to replace it on a road trip with one from Autozone and a lifetime warranty. I keep the box and receipt in the trunk with all my spare parts.
I run a Mallory oil filled on one of the horizontal brackets from AR engineering working good for 8 years. Went through 2 Petronix epoxy when hot they crapped out, 1 Accel leaked out of the tower out of the box and now have a MSD good so far. this is on the Duster. All were china except the...
