There is a inner and outer seal. The inner seal is easy to change after pulling the axle. The axle bearing is lubed by grease like front wheels. The outer seal is not good holding back gear oil. Change the inner, repack the bearing with grease, should be fine.

If it is a new orange box it probably will not work well in the heat, the transistor on the front is fake and just done with internal circuitry.
If it is a older box the ground could be a problem, best to run a ground off mounting bolt to battery.
I agree with you. As long as your pieces aren't bent and you can get tie rod sleeves to be at equal angles (pitman arm and idler in same plane/level with each other) bump steer should be reduced.

Another thing to mention about fan clutches is the way they are stored. Can't remember which way you are supposed to store them, but if the fan clutch you bought was not stored "correctly" it will take some driving to reset/release it.
