That was thirty plus years ago... I was turning wrenches everyday, guys would joke with me about needing a bucket of water to cool my tools.... These days I could easily stretch that job into a couple days or more especially if it doesn't cooperate....
I'd do it in the car but you know A/C doesn't bother me much.... When I was swapped cams it was on the red car & it didn't have A/C at the time... I could do a swap in about 3 hours...
Rollers open the valve much quicker so a smaller cam can make bigger power... But the valve springs take a beating & if they aren't strong enough to control the valvetrain the roller can "hop" over the nose of the lobe... If it does that it quickly destroys the lifter & the cam... So be careful...
I have not heard Hawk's car... I do like the specs on his cam... And I do like how your sounds...
I did hear Hawks Yellow Roadrunner which has a small block.... It sounded great.... But it's a small block so it has no bearing on any of this...
To obtain that number I'm guessing the "Spirited" driving was very much limited?
My Green Challenger on one road trip I pulled 15.5 but it was 55mph on cruise control from LA to Modesto... Bored to tears.. I'll buy more fuel....
Coral always gives me crap about my stock exhaust, tells me "everyone else's cars sound beefy" but after hours on the road, quiet exhaust is kinda nice...
Sounds like a great drive!! I still enjoy taking them out but gotta admit, it hurts more than it use to....
Oh as an added informational point... When I restored my green car seat foams weren't available.... My red car has new seat foams, the difference on longer drives is night & day... I now...
Greg, I know not of what you speak...
I think this past weekend we saw enough trouble for the next few years... Nothing serious but it slowed our pace some...
My advise? Get a good towing plan... And bring friends to keep you amused while waiting for the tow truck...
Back in 96 I had...
68 Rally dash has a pop out plug where the top switch or defrost switch goes... They eliminated it in 69 & 70... 69 has a Hazard switch on the dash, gone in 70..
Funny I don't remember saying anything like that... In fact what I said was....
You are probably right but I've never seen one of that style switches used as a defrost switch... But I've seen a Top switch that was crusty & didn't act like it was spring loaded till I took it apart & cleaned...

Actually it's a rear window switch for a station wagon which is also used as a power top switch for a convertible.... And yes, it is a fairly rare Mopar part...
