I think white would have been my last choice to try to cover black.
Must have been a massive job... I don't know why they would have done it in the first place... The paint is really thick even in 2024 - I reckon many coats would have been required... That would have been a lot of hours and a bunch of paint :)
Is that a MSD Blaster 2 ign coil? If so, that has a 0.7 ohm primary winding which is much too low for the Chrys ECU. The Chrys coils had ~1.5 ohm pri res plus a 0.5 ohm res in series to give ~2.0 ohm. That ECU may have some internal device that detects excessive current &/or heat & opens the cct...
So you did the test in post #35 & 36* was best idle? Does not surprise me at all. My engine idles at 48*.
[1] Did idle rpm increase with 36*?
[2] Was idle smoother?
[3] This [ ign timing at idling ] is a hugely misunderstood subject....& a lot of ignorance about it.
I always thought a good measure of fame in that department, for me at least, was how long between the first meet of your partner did it take to get to home plate, so to speak, mine was 45 mins, and we are talking no professionals involved.:bananadance:
