One looks like hardware cloth, the other looks tile underlay mesh to me. Both normally galvanized, now painted black. Both maybe home brewed custom stuff???
I thought...thought USCT, aka US Car Tool was selling the core support in 26" for this project. There were also videos up on Youtube once upon a time showing details of the job...and they were doing a B-body... I'll look for some links.
Nicks is usually a pretty good source of info;
Nick's Garage - Jack/Jack Hook Identification
His info tapers off at '71 on most body styles....no mention of bumper slots or a mid year change.
I used to apply two stage paints back in the 80's with the same equiptment you describe. Should be the same procedure today. Check with your viscosity cup before shooting....should go on just like old times.
Obviously going to be the most popular and maybe safest approach. I wonder if anyone knows for sure tho; how did they leave the factory??? Just curious, don't mean to hijack. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
To me, it looks like plain steel in your pic..... it looks like it was sandblasted clean, and then wire brushed (or wirewheeled). You could now treat and coat with Clear POR-15 and it will look like that and glossy indefinitely if not in direct sun for extended amount of time.
I couldn't seem to lay my hands on the `67 ones I have out of the car. I looked at the `66....plymouth belvy.. I got 44" cc to the hinge plates, and the rods are 47" or so, depending on just how you measure them. HTH, Lefty71
My stupid comp....trying to select the bucket of popcorn lol.
I would certainly think any 66 AND 67 Dodge and Plymouth "B" would be identical... I have a `66 here...I'll go look and maybe a pic. Also, I THINK I have a `67 spring loose out of the car...
