They were likely ordered for stock by the same dealership and the orders were processed at the same time by the factory would be my best guess. Do either of them have a broadcast sheet or door sticker? Those can give you a better idea of the actual build date.
I'm probably in the minority but I think the K6 bronze is a great colour that really pops in the light. Many years ago I bought a garage kept 71 Valiant for parts (original owners gave it to the grandson who promptly put it in the ditch while driving it in the winter) in that colour and thought...
I’ve owned many Mopars but never officially owned a 71-74 B-body before but I ran across this one and couldn’t pass it up.
It’s a 72 that’s still wearing its original TB3 paint along with the B5 interior. The original front bench was tossed in favour of a pair of buckets of unknown origin but I...
383 2bbl which a previous owner had some custom chroming done to back in the 70’s. It runs excellent so I’m thinking that it might have been rebuilt somewhere along the way.
Personally I'd drain the tank and burn that gas in an old lawnmower or something like that. I definitely wouldn't run it through a modern fuel injected computer controlled engine unless you're planning on scrapping the car and taking the bus instead.
It was on Kijiji in Canada which is the equivalent of Craigslist in the US. The cars are out there and show up from time to time, you just have to look regularly and be ready to act fast when something nice comes up. The good cars that are fairly priced don't stay advertised for long.
I recently bought this 1960 Adventurer which was the last year of DeSoto production in Canada. I believe they made them for one more year in the US before they pulled the plug.
Good call in going with the GY8.I have a 71 Sport Fury parts car in that color and it would have been a real looker when it was in good shape many years ago. It's pretty rough now, unfortunately.
I think the pic you posted is the first time I've seen a RR in that color but I've seen some 71...
Welcome from across the water in Victoria.I seem to remember seeing that car for sale and it looks really nice.
I used to have red 66 Coronet that I sold about 25 years ago and supposedly it's still here on the Island but I haven't seen it since then.
It was a 383 4 speed car but it had a 440...
Before removing the axles,I usually put a dab of paint on the adjuster ring where the retaining washer was engaged. That way when you put it back together, the old adjustment should get you real close or right where you need to be for the end play adjustment.
Also,when greasing the rear wheel...
I see that done here in Canada all the time.Old guy passes away alone and no relatives can be found or they don't want to deal with it and the government gets the works and auctionis it all off online.Never seen a Hemi GTX until now, though.
I like the survivor vibe on that car.Personally I'd...
A few more things to add to the list of hard to find parts are an original style rad,the HP exhaust manifolds and the 70/71 only alternator if you're going for an OEM type restoration. Also,if you need to start looking for a lot of the small but hard to find items like engine mounts,accessory...
You definitely did the right thing there.Another thing about buying a car that's apart for paint is how is the trim, bumpers, glass, rolling stock, interior etc? Have they been restored or replaced or are they in used condition still?
Once you put new paint on a car, you'll want to be putting it back...
It does smell pretty funny. You'd definitely want to check into how the winner will be picked before handing over your $100.
Not sure how it works there but around here I believe you have to be a registered charity to hold any sort of raffle like that.
Is there an accepted definition for the term survivor as far as vintage cars go? I haven't seen one but a car with replacement floors,X? number of repaints, custom upholstery, wrong engine and missing tags sure isn't one.
What's with the bottom of the drivers fender? it looks like it's a long way...
