I would not know as I have not used the SEM trim paint. Does it leave a bit of texture? not really - it depends on the finish of the item your are painting.

The steel portion of the dash came from the factory with a textured finish - that way there is no glare on the windsheild. For my 71 dash frame I used the Rustoleum textured suede finish paint. This is the type of finish it gave. More of a satin finish with a texture.

I assume that the 360 engine you purchased is from the 'smog' era (mid 1970's to late 1980's) therefore the compression will not be the greatest for a lumpy cam. Thanks Chad, I used white paint on it but it's not as white as the paint that's on the car. No worries tho as you'll see very little of it once it's on the car. Yes, a Dremel tool is a good thing to have when doing a restoration project.

Since the stainless mounting fasteners are a little too long, I used my trusty Dremel with a mini death wheel on it to trim them up. Next, I put on the bumper brackets. Hopefully I'll be able to find the grille mounting bracket I need and get it put on before the whole assembly goes on the car.
