engine for my Durango..... scratch that, Dakota resurrection instead

Keep an eye on the temperature. They're known for getting a pocket of air in the coolant. They have a bleeder on the t-stat housing which doesn't make sense to me because the radiator cap (on the top hose) is higher. I leave the cap off and wait for the t-stat to open. Have fun with it! I...

    "I'm a doctor, not a brick layer"

Well that didn't work out too well. I'm trying to think where the man they have encountered used to play on. A doctor? The girl used to play on "Father Knows Best".

How many engines have you exploded or hurt really bad????

Just one. Back when we were kids my younger brother and I were arguing over a knocking sound coming from our '68 Formula S 383 4sp Barracuda. He said it was a main bearing, I said it was a connecting rod bearing. So we decided to hold the pedal on the floor and wait for it to blow. It did. Big...

    Engine Sputtering and Erratic Engine

Most stations don't sell a lot of 93 octane so it might contribute to more moisture in their tank. Pull the line off anywhere you like and catch some gas in a white or clear container. You'll see a bubble of water in the bottom if it's there.

    Aluminum Radiator Options

I read alot and you can too. Just on this site I've noticed more with the three rows don't seem to cool as well as the 1"tube x two rows. Maybe close to the same surface area on the tubes as a three row but more air can get through a two row. Just spit balling. The ECP outfit claim their's will...

    Headers and Mini Starters

I cant confirm they are the same but I'm running the D452 on my 440 in my '62 Dodge. Great fit. Mini starter required. The D452 is what you want for the RB block. I also have the 727 pushbutton.

    Aluminum Radiator Options

Using 10% ethanol fuel raises the temperature from when these engines were running on leaded fuel also.

    Aluminum Radiator Options

I'm running the ECP radiator also. I still think two rows of 1" tubes cool better than three rows of tubes.

I get to install this oil pan twice, yay!

You would think so but everywhere you look they say 15 ft lbs. The last gasket I bought was the Superformance. Won't squeeze out like cork. I use a 1/4" drive with a 6" extension and just snug them up one handed. You can watch for the gasket to squeeze out a tiny bit then stop. I think the...
