I do not have part numbers for either one. I just spoke with the man and told him what I had and the hose configuration. There were no modifications needed. The radiators fit the 26” openings of my cars. Stock shrouds fit too.

That is where I’m heading if I don’t exercise some self control. Retirement and tasty food have had an effect.

To those that have seen the thousands of memes with that picture, it means many things. One of them is that the smirk, the smart aleck expression comes from knowing that a bad decision was made and unfortunate consequences will follow.

I have a local guy that charged half price if the radiator was deemed to be junk. Maybe it is naïve of me but it seemed that they did deserve something for making the effort.

Radiator repair shops will put radiators in a tank with chemicals to clean out corrosion, restoring the flow to new levels. Sometimes the gunk inside will not come out and you end up with a bill for the service and a junk radiator.

I have used the ECP 26" radiator in my two '70 Chargers. The stock 26" shroud fits. This was under $300 shipped to my place. It uses stock hoses and has a trans cooler.

If you have the room to accommodate it, the 2747 is fine. It is the one to the LEFT here: It is fairly easy to install. The one to the right is the stubby 2947 that we often have to use with thicker radiators. That one is a pisser to install. If the taller 2747 fits, I highly recommend that...

I didn't aim to anger you, I was messing around. The GIF of Kramer laughing should have been an indication that I was joking. I tried to help and posted twice with information to get you sorted out. Nobody insulted you or your car. In fact, several people stepped up and gave you the help that...

Higher octane only helps IF your engine needs it. If you don't knock with 87 octane, premium isn't doing anything but costing more money.

The second post here is from a radiator vendor. I have no experience with their products but they have a good reputation.

    Temperature Issues

People keep posting, worrying about their cooling system. 220 is not too hot. Water boils at 212. Water in a radiator with a pressure cap boils higher. A mixture of anti-freeze and water under pressure is a LOT higher. I haven't seen anything less than a 16 lb cap used in awhile. Plain water...

I don’t know the thicknesses of the stock radiators. I do know that the thickness does vary with aftermarket units. The 2947 is your last option if clearance is limited. After that, you’re looking at electric fans.

You have the number wrong. The 2947 is the one on the right.

Radiator overflow ???? what are you running?

For many 66-70 B bodies, the 73-76 A body overflow jug fits and works quite well.

Installing Classic Auto Air in a '70 Charger

Holy crap. I was worried that the compressor would crap out. If it is working and not knocking or puking fluids, I’m happy. I would like to know what happened between yesterday and today. I strongly suspect that nobody came here to fix it while I was asleep. The compressor clutch wouldn’t...

Installing Classic Auto Air in a '70 Charger

It gets weirder. I just fired up the car to warm it up. Yesterday I posted the video where the compressor clutch wouldn’t stay engaged. I put in a jumper wire to the hi-low switch plug and the compressor clutch engaged. The air blew cool then COLD. But…. The compressor knocked and seemed to bog...
