The lifter bosses are taller to support the lifter better. If you use a roller lifter make sure the tie bar doesn't contact the block when the lifter is on base circle at the bottom of cam lift. Most current roller tappets clear. If using at flat tappet cam you won't have an issue. Doug

I'm assuming you removed the E clip to change the throttle lever seal. When this was done the kickdown shaft dropped and the rooster comb moved up. Most likely the detent ball and spring popped out when the rooster comb moved upward. Then the arm was no longer inserted in the manual valve...
