Gas tank J-bolt locknuts shredding threads

I use anti-seize on nuts like that. If too tight, I have also used a starter tap to open the nut up a little. Otherwise use a regular nut and lock washer if not a restoration.. Terry W.

Not a Mopar but what a bummer

My 2015 Challenger R/T shaker a few years ago was in to the dealer because the backup camera had come unplugged and the car is under warranty. Simple job- open trunk lid, remove insulation pad and plug back in. I didn't get a call to come get the car later so I drop in to the dealer. I was told...

If You Grew Up in the 1970s – You Remember...

I got on my 64 Schwinn Stingray the other day and rode it for a short distance. I don't remember it being so hard to pedal and I don't remember my knee joints hurting so much. Hmm. Lol.

    1971 Grille bracket plastic inserts

I took the grille out of my 74 last night. It looks like the grille(s) uses 12 total (6 per side) for a 74. Let me know if I can help. Terry W.

    Shiny paint causes stress

After I got the 74 Rallye Charger on the road 2 years ago, I let my grandson drive the car to high school as I told him I'd give the car to him when he graduated. He drove it to school for a couple of days, brought it home and parked it in his mom's garage and put the cover on it. I asked what...

    1971 Grille bracket plastic inserts

How many do you need? I bought a whole box and only used a few. I have one more Charger to do. Looks like they carry the same thing I have. PM me. Terry W.

    1971 Grille bracket plastic inserts

Here's what I ended up using. It has the same shape, just a thinner round part. I used some plastic/nylon washers to space it out to the same thickness. I also used a hacksaw blade to split the part that inserts into metal bracket. A new unsplit one is on the left in first photo. The second one...

    My 1964 Stingray

I just went out and put air in the tires which were deflated when the bike was hung up in storage about 55 years ago. They held air. I rode it for a short distance and adjusted the handlebars vertical. Here's some more photos. I'm excited to get this bike back on the road. I looked up under the...

    My 1964 Stingray

I never thought so many Mopar guys were also knowledgeable about Stingray bikes, I haven't seen the smooth whitewall Slik like I have on my bike for sale anywhere. Mine is still in good shape with just the whitewall yellowed some. Here's a couple pictures of it.

    My 1964 Stingray

I wasn't going to repaint it. I'm going to replace the rusty wheels, worn tires and tubes and go from there. Terry W.

    My 1964 Stingray

That is a whitewall slick I put on the back around 1966 or 67. That's the original front tire is on it still, as it came with whitewalls, with a whitewall knobby on the back when new. Are you saying get rid of the whitewall tires? The original wider, white seat was uncomfortable to sit on and...

    My 1964 Stingray

In 2018, I was at MCACN in Chicago and I saw a section where people had restored bikes. That got my interest a little about my old bike which my parents had kept for me and I retrieved many years ago. I didn't realize they bought big money in some instances. The Sting-Ray deluxe was first...

    My 1964 Stingray

I must confess I haven't always been in to Mopars. In 1964 I owned a 1964 Stingray. Its ID number is D438274 abd was built on April 14, 1964. My parents bought it for me when I was in elementary school and it was the first time I had a new means of transportation, always a hand- me- down before...

    6000# Towing Capacity 0n 74 Charger?

@KernDog. Yes, my 20 ft RV trailer has electric brakes. I believe that most of the RV trailers over 18 ft do come with electric brakes. Tent trailers, some do. Terry W.

    6000# Towing Capacity 0n 74 Charger?

@Project 66 . That's true. The brochure states "features a 6000-pound-capacity load-distributing hitch platform plus...". Tongue weight would be crucial. Our 20 ft RV trailer weighs about 2700 lbs with a tongue weight of about 300 lbs I believe. It would be cool to tow it for a weekend show and...

    6000# Towing Capacity 0n 74 Charger?

You can see the hitch on my 74 is bolted to the bumper and the 2nd photo shows it bolted to the thin metal panel behind the bumper which looks to be pulled towards the rear slightly. Were the ones in the tow package bolted or welded to the frame? Photos would be interesting to see. Was the plug...
