Tire explosion sent metal ‘flying like a missile,’ killing 2 workers

Two types of "tire cages" to my understanding. Ones, the tire and wheel assembly goes into, and others the human being themselves are in. And possibly, Both, at the same time. The Air Force ones that i was familiar with, the wheel and tire assembly went into the cage.

Tire explosion sent metal ‘flying like a missile,’ killing 2 workers

I remember back in my Air Force days, working the F-4 Phantoms, as a flight line crew chief, jet aircraft mechanic, the "tire cages" the airmen used in the tire shop, putting those tires and wheels together.

Well, i grew up in the arm pit of Connecticut. Waterbury, Connecticut. When manufacturing was great, back in the dinosaur days, Waterbury, was known as the brass center, capital, of the world, with all the factories that were located back in that city. I always hated that run down, decayed...

Walking and health.: How many steps?

I walk around my neighborhood, three times a day. Each walk is one mile, around my neighborhood. At my pace it takes me 18 minutes, if i don't talk to anyone, or pet the dogs. I put one of those step meters in my pocket, and it's right around 2,200 steps for the mile. So, 3 times a day, 6,600...

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Well, i got down to the Stockton, California, Pick-N-Pull, wrecking yard, this morning, and got the lower control arms off a plain Jane, 1972 Plymouth Satellite, for me to do my rebuilding on them. Just a drum brake car, or i would have gotten everything else off it.
