Congratulations, I start SS next month but as I've been told I'll see my first 'check' in April. The wife is exactly one year behind me. We plan on working at least one more year full-time then go part-time for some period after that. I've worked since I was 13 and super hesitant about not...
Glad things weren't worse than they were! I've done so many things that prompted (or nearly prompted) trips to the ER I was just now remembering them all. Worst one wasn't even mine. My wife's brother was making some shelving to save a few dollars, cutting wood with a circular saw when it...
The reason I was considering a hemi style 7 (6+1) quart pan is that I've read the additional oil keeps the engine cooler in extreme (Florida) hot temperatures. At least that's what I've read possibly including here. Thx
Welcome from Central Florida! Interestingly, I Googled Bradford, UK and got this "Bradford is famous for its 19th-century "Wool Capital of the World" industrial heritage", I grew up in "Cotton Country" state of Georgia. Love the GTX!
I've gotten my share of BS tickets, last one was driving on I-75 through south Georgia around 5 years ago. Going 79 on a 70 mph highway, running with 6-7 other trucks and cars in a group. County deputy was entering the highway as I passed under the bridge, no way he could have gotten me on...
if speed is the only measure i agree that aluminum is better, but for those that value a numbers matching drivetrain in 'only' a 383 car might see the original heads as something more. Just my .02
One of the best 'hands on' threads I've read, lots of detail especially where things didn't work initially and you powered through it! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Great video, really informative and thought provoking. I can't disagree with anything he said other than "we don't know what we don't know". So where he see's something as impossible today, we have no idea if it will still be impossible in a 100 or 1000 years. At the very least I think it...
Very nice and very interesting. I'm considering leaving my 383 standard stroke after being sure I wanted a 489 stroker at one point. I already have a Lunati roller cam with specs that are a little more lift and a little more duration but on a 110 degree centerline so the rpm range is identical...
With the possible exception of 'fenderwell' headers I've never seen this issue. TTI, Doug's headers are the preferred brands here it seems, but I'm also considering going with manifolds myself for originality and ease of everything that dealing with headers aren't easy about!
I've got almost all the suspension parts for the Bird, most previously purchased from FF, but have now decided I want to go with even larger T-bars so will be contacting them soon about that! Good to know things are evening out with their business.
The build sheets I believe are gone along with the fender tag, but I've had my 70 RR since 74 so I know it's an original Torred car. It does have the original drive train including motor so that's why I'm sticking with the Day 2 scheme which is basically how I ran it back in the day.
