Sounds like your inner lights are illuminating the stop filaments for some reason. Sockets hooked up backwards? Bulbs in wrong?
I used an Echlin from Napa, probably chinese made, but it’s been working fine for 12 years now.
Make sure your timing marks are correct, that the outer ring hasn’t slipped on your vibration dampener.
