62 Fury needing opinion on trim

Have your strips wrapped. Don't like the colour. Remove the wrap and try another colour.

This 5 qt Mr Mopar oil pan will fit a 64 Belvedere??? Anyone use this?

You'll most likely have to forgo an aftermarket windage tray for that project but if you install a lower girdle above the pan, it'll do the same job. If the pan has a windage tray built in make sure none of the rotating assembly touches.

Holley Sniper in my '65 Coronet

These people at HotRod will do anything to earn some bucks. The article is a sponsored fling to promote what Holley screwed up the first time. Don't believe me? Read this one done previously for another manufacturer of EFI. They had everything the Super Sniper has two years ago including pump...

Fitting an electric fan in a 62-65

As I said earlier the Derale is a wise choice. Doesn't whine like spal. The thickness of the Derale is only 1 3/4. That's why I removed my Spal which was very thick and sounded like a whirly-jig. With the Derale I had enough room to mount a 1 3/8 deep shroud. Oh by the way, the Dakoda Digital...

Fitting an electric fan in a 62-65

Here's what works for me and really is a good combo for any early Mopar especially with a 22 inch radiator. My engine is a 512 stroker/ 625 Hp. The fan is a Derale Tornado 16" that you will see partly down the page. Powerfull, quiet, efficient with low startup amps. Just buy the fan (any brand)...

Single -vs- Dual Reservoir Master Cylinder

Actually, the stroke for a single is a bit longer than a dual because the MC piston has to displace enough fluid for all four corners. With a dual, it is like having two pistons inside the MC dedicated to each circuit. That's why the pedal sits slightly higher off the floor with a single. The...

What brake booster and m/c works on 62 fury

Should be able to use the same booster but make sure the depth of the original master plunger is the same as the replacement. If they're slightly different adjust the threaded nose of the booster in or out by the amount of depth difference between the two master cylinder plungers. Note* Measure...

Here I go with a stumper again...

Just knew somewhere down this post the "redneck" foam spray would come up. Surprised a piece of screen and tar didn't surface. If you can't weld, glue a piece in: https://www.amazon.ca/3M-08115-Panel-Bonding-Adhesive/dp/B000PEW4MI

    rear drum brakes

I've often wondered where the extra 1/2 inch was taken up when going from 2 to 2 1/2 drums. I would think it was accounted for in the shape of the drum or the backing plates were set back further. I doubt that the axle's were longer but I suppose anything's possible. I'd be interested to hear...

    Opinions on a custom dash

I've done this on two cars and never looked back. I found doner bezels and holders and just modified them to accept my new gauges. I used classical looking Autometer gauges with a 5 1/2 inch speedo and 2 inch fuel, oil pressure, temperature and voltage gauges. I added a matching clock as well...

    upper radiator hose

I had the same issue a couple of years ago when I purchased a new rad. I measured from the block outlet to get the desired vertical height, lateral offset, and diameter of the hose required. I knew that I needed a hose with two ninety degree bends, one on the vertical and one on the horizontal...

    273 engine trouble

Try running it with no air cleaner at all and see the results. It occurs to me, according to what you say, that the issue occurs when you tighten down the air cleaner top. Are you sure it's the right air cleaner housing. Perhaps the issue is with the air filter itself. This is most bizarre, the...

    Narrowed Rear End

This appears to be one of those "home" jobs done by a guy who just bought a welder and didn't have anything to do. It's just completely all wrong including the spot where he cut the housing tubes. Re-cutting and straightening is not an option. You could pick up another housing and have it done...

Electronics go totally dead after shutting off engine when hot...any ideas?

I notice that you have deleted the heater box and associated hoses and if this is the case, consider this. Once you remove that branch of the cooling/heating system you have reduced the volume of coolant in the entire system by about 2 1/2 quarts. This makes a big difference on really hot days...

1964 Savoy Wagon Rear Window help

There should be a panel on the inside of the tailgate you remove to get access to the motor linkage. After disconnecting it you can raise the window and finish diassembly. A factory service manual would help greatly in preventing any damage due to frustration or a "day of discovery" approach...

    Coolant Replacement

At 180 degrees the thermostat will open and the pump will push coolant through all the passages. If you leave the cap off with the top tank of the rad about 1/3 full, you should be able to see the air come out the upper hose and flow through the rad. It will actually look a bit like foam. Do not...

School me on a 65 Satallite

I have seen that car in my neck of the woods ( London, Ontario)and it's really sweet. I'd dicker the price a bit as I'm sure you can get it for less. Both cars you mention are great looking vehicles. The GM is much cheaper to maintain, parts about half the price ( you surely know about "the...

    Cooling System Troubleshooting guide

It occurs to me that you are running two fans on your rad - one mechanical on the inside and one electric on the front side. Why? The outer one produces an air flow that is concentrated within the diameter of the fan only, yet the inner one has a shroud. If this doesn't create enough air flow...
