What's a decent but not crazy expensive switch to use? I bought a $20 switch off eBay and surprise surprise, it's garbage. The hazard switch is all kinds of confused. It blinks left and right alternatively when you push left or right, puts the hazards on with the switch off, etc.
I noticed my brake lights were out on the passenger side (both bulbs). Driving lights come on no problem. There are two plugs under the gas fill so I thought that harness might have an issue. I tried the blinkers, which use the brake filament, and they work just fine.

I know this is a old thread, but I recently 3D printed a plastic gear for a nerf gun out of some carbon fiber filament. It was very effective. I don't see why it wouldn't work in this application.
Are you referring to the whole assembly or just the lens? I've been considering replacing mine with the reproduction in the link below, but I haven't taken the old one off yet. There are a few good pictures of the assembly if you only have the lens.
