Correct Paint Colors '69 Suspension Parts

Google "correct Mopar suspension colors" - lots of info & images. Mike Mancini and Dave Walden (RIP) would be the best authorities on the topic.

    Organisol formula with DCC9355

Can't answer the PPG base question, but Organisol was/is a basically flat in sheen and textured like about-400-grit sandpaper. You may already know that, but thought I'd mention it as so many guys get the sheen & texture incorrect.

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

Appears to be the after the straight front axle was swapped in, as IIRC that happened when the wheels were moved forward. The nose-up or elevated stance took a while to die out - in SoCal, at least, it was around '66-'67 when guys started applying better-working suspension & aero. Remember, the...

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

That sure looks like Lions - I'd usually be about 6 feet to the right in those (pit side) stands or at the fence. Empty bleachers tells me that's likely a test day or days.

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

Lions was an AHRA track for a bit, bounced back & forth between NHRA & AHRA. But yeah, LAST thing NHRA would do is acknowledge a competing sanctioning body !

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

Yeah, it seems that there was even more going on for the '65s than the '64s, so things were likely rushed. A few things stand out to me in that Commandos photo: apparent buckling around the rear wheelhouse, the top body line quarter/door, and the upward angle of the fender. Ironically, perhaps...

    1967 GTX dash finish?

Yeah, the '67 column finish was brought up on Moparts, and it seems that '66s were gloss and '67s were suede. I'm not an expert on the '66-'67 cars, though.

    1967 GTX dash finish?

Dash & package tray darker were than the other interior colors. There's been some argument on '67 columns, but I don't recall what my '67 GTX from 40+ years ago had, sorry.

    68 Charger colors need info

2 of my FF1 '68 cars, if it helps...I like all the greens, though. Only those 3 for '68s.

    What blue is this?

Not a factory '68 color, it's something else. Does look a lot like the pickup's color.

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

The story goes that the Lions test was frustrating because the A864 had Carters on it and couldn't outrun the Maxie by what they'd hoped. The change to Holleys came about as a result. Yeah, the old salt with the stogie stands out as particularly intriguing. I saw somewhere that the '65 Dodge...

I've seen the photo with the gal & parts, maybe in HotRod ? It was so long ago I don't clearly recall the context, except something about how Chrysler was light-weighting their cars for drag racing...Peterson Publishing had a big photo studio on Sunset Blvd - they shot one of my cars there - and...

No worries - yeah, somewhere I have the rt side profile photo of the mule. In my Missile file, I pulled up this shot at the Winternationals - looks like the later scoop, though the car's "only" a 2%-er at this point, Tom Grove up. Confusing as hell, haha - or I need better photos...or eyes...

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

Aha - thanks; I googled the address but guessed "Detroit", not knowing the suburbs, and didn't think of trying "Amblewagon". The Mule was built @ Chrysler's Woodward Garage, with Amblewagon subsequently doing the conversion work on all but a couple of the initial/contract-racer cars (Missile VII...

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

The actual Mule was a white Plymouth. The Dodge photo appears to be an unfinished car, missing the simple cover below the bumper that hid the K frame. The "steeper" scoop came after the RO/WO scoop, so it would seem to have been a further development (larger opening, steeper angle). In those...

    69' Coronet/Bee Carpet Install

^^^ Yup. If it ends up going over the pinchwelds, that's not necessarily a problem, unless they distort from the thickness. I set the gas pedal location 1st - forward inner corner of the heel pad - after laying the carpet flat and checking perimeter. To keep the carpet from shifting around, I...

    1965 Plymouth 2% A/FX cars

^^^ Interesting - do you recall what color it was ? The '65 Dodge flat/blunt front end is quite different from the Plymouth's but maybe you didn't see that view. Maybe it was the white Plymouth mule car, though I would think its testing happened in secrecy so Ford wouldn't know about it until...
