I blocked mine off on the aluminum Edelbrock Six Pack, and installed a manual choke. The old DC manual said it was worth 5HP. I was still able to employ the fast idle cam.
Welcome aboard! I cruised Pottstown back in the late 80’s, early 90’s when High Street was 4 lanes. In the Charger and ‘Cuda. Pic from 1988. Your ‘69 looks like a great start to me!
For years I wanted one on my ‘70 ‘Cuda. My brother said it would look stupid, and tacked on. I agree with him now. And being a ‘69 build it has the rare trunk lid without the go wing tabs. It didn’t become available til ‘70.
The “push” occurs when a car has been sitting, which a lot of these cars are not being driven daily. The cranking will lower the battery charge and the newer high amperage alternators will deliver higher current than the wiring was designed to handle. Couple that with the deterioration of the...
That still doesn’t address the bulkhead connector. It’s a bad design. Sure, it was quick on the assembly line, but over the years it corrodes and becomes a resistance point. Chrysler knew this and on the “K” police price class by 1970 MY they had a separate direct through in the firewall. I...
It wasn’t that way back in time. Going back to 1988. I bought a salvage ‘81 Mirada for my Mom off of the owner of the body shop I worked at. While we were both there st the notary, I signed my Dad’s name to the new Title and registration as it was going on his insurance. The lady there didn’t...
Every state. Even the ones you think have government overreach, are better than Pennsylvania. We have a yearly state inspection program here. Most states are dropping that or never had it. I’d heard that Florida dropped it a couple years ago. But I didn’t know California of all places never even...
Yeah. I just cruised. I had the only 2nd gen Charger in town circa 1987. And 235 HP with a rework of the TH200 Chevette trans didn’t impress me then, and it certainly doesn’t now. The rear in those wasn’t up to any sticky tire either. But regardless of all that they sound like a 6 cylinder.
Yeah. They were around back in the 80’s when I cruised my Charger. I thought they sounded like crap. I’d have rather had this. My brother’s car that he drove in that era. It sounded better. Just needs a big block that bolts right in.
The only paperwork I have is a “bill of sale” I had the guy sign. I don’t even think it was dated or had the VIN on it. Hey… I was 22. Arizona says they have no info on it, or anything after 5 years of dormancy.
I also asked on the B body page on FB. A couple others suggested that as well. But unless they will issue a registration with just a bill of sale and the VIN through the mail… That’s what Vermont did until a couple years ago.
