    Exhaust manifold removal

That's what I would do. You're just spinning your wheels trying to get ahold of something that's almost impossible. Burn it out with a torch. Wrap everything with wet blankets.

    Exhaust manifold removal

Which stud is it, 2nd from the front ect? The way I'm looking at it is if you can't get to it with a 90 deg drill or torch I'd plan on lifting the engine up enough where you can get to it.

factory manifolds, bolts that hold the down pipe??

On my 4.7 Dodge Dakota I used JB weld to glue the nut to the cast manifold. I couldn't get to it for some reason. Had to wait a day for the JB to cure but it helped me get it back together. In a lot of cases I'll use a brass nut on those bolts to make someone's life easier down the road when...

I'm pretty sure I bought these through Summit. Just cut off you extra tailpipe and clamp or weld them on.

    Exhaust manifold hole

The three deep holes that use the sleeved nut are shouldered so cutting them off gets you nowhere. The ones in question have been replaced with something other than factory, probably a bolt of some kind that's down in the hole. I like the idea of a hole saw that will fit into the hole to remove...

    Exhaust manifold hole

Hard to believe someone found a nut that would fit the stud and also fit in the hole. And have a socket that would work. Nothing surprises me anymore. Could you just use something short enough for a depth guage? Piece of a zip tie?

    Exhaust manifold hole

Pretty sure that takes a sleeve nut. Hopefully it's not broken off and it's just missing. Should be just a stud in there.

    Doug's vs TTI headers

I like mine in the '62. No hammer needed and they are tucked up, not low. They have a set for the B block 451 and another set 452 for the RB.

    Which headers fit the bill?

On a budget? The Doug's are really nice and fit without using a hammer.

440 headers do not sit flush

Did you get them to fit? Had to bevel the flange on my Doug's. I'm using the 452 heads also.
