    Don't know if anti-seize will seal the bolt good enough to stop coolant from seeping. I like Permatex #2 on the bolt threads. Nice job on the bolt removal. I was wondering if you had a welder. That's the way to do it:thumbsup:

    You'll need the 451 headers for the 383. 1-3/4" primaries. The 452 is for the RB 413, 426, 440. They're a tad taller. I bought the Dougs with the black paint and they still look good. Nice fitment, no hammering dents for clearance. Quality product. When using them or any header on 452 heads...

    2" tube hooker super comp headers-68 Charger

    Passenger's side normally will go in from underneath with the motor mount on that side loose and jacked up around an inch. Driver side might drop in from the top without loosening the mount. Removing the steering column is an option also on the driver's side. Factory starters don't always work...

    Dougs D451 Headers On A 440

    I used a stud at each end and the header bolts in the middle. On the second bolt back the header has to be loose to get the bolt started. Dope them up with Permatex #2 before installing. If you're using 452 iron heads the flange on the header has to be taypered to clear the ridge on the head.

    Double check where the antifreeze is coming from. Looking up from underneath works better. There's frost plugs behind the manifold also. Renting a pressure guage from your local parts store can speed things up if you pressurize the system.

    Carb cleaner? It's what it's designed to do. Some white polishing compound. Use a good wax afterwards to keep the carbon from sticking next time.

    Dougs D451 Headers On A 440

    Installing the Dakota mini starter using Dougs 452 headers, I unbolted the three bolt flange then all of the header to head bolts and let the header hang on the front stud. Starter comes right out.

    You haven't seen my build thread? Here's the Dougs 452 on my 440. They fit like a glove, the black paint is holding up after two years. I did have them on for the cam break in and had to touch them up right at the head. I spent the extra and don't regret it one bit...
