Has anyone ever eliminated all of the electronics on one of these engines and tried running them "old school"? Would it even work?

I had to go into my settings on my phone and "un-sinc" Google from most of my apps, especially my G-Mail account! I might regret responding to your other post, (don't want to jinks it) but my 03 Ram with the 5.7 has been doing fine with 170k on it now. Thanks for posting the "Star"

I believe there might be some programs out there to do it straight from your phone but I don't know myself. On my phone, I just bring up the video, click on share, select YouTube, give it a title and it uploads. Then I can share it wherever. It's been awhile but you might want to download the...

Easiest way is to upload your vid on YouTube, then click on share and paste it in your post.

I posted the video of the lifter replacement so you might check what they did. I noticed oil holes in the sides and if there's anyway they could be installed wrong? I've never had one of these apart, just throwing ideas out there. Member @5.7 hemi might have some input.

New or used lifters?

I have an 03, 2500 with 170k hard miles on it and it's running fine. (Hope I didn't jinks it) I don't know if there was any changes after 03 or not.

I've had engines in the past that used too much oil. Changed the weight or brand and the problem went away. It's normal for most to use up to a quart between changes. That's when the oil starts to break down. It's a good guage on when to change it. I have a 03, 5.7 in a Ram 2500, with 160,000...
