High vacuum normally means not much of a cam. 13"s are very respectable for a "stock" 3,000 lb car. :xscuseless...

    318 cylinder salvageable?

    Only a competent machine shop can tell you if it can be reasonably fixed. The best reason to keep it original is that eveyrthing is already there and fits ( brackets, pulleys, accessories etc...
