I started fitting the carpet and the rear piece was extremely difficult with the cage floor bars coming through that area. Combining the cage bars with a much taller drive shaft tunnel and larger trans tunnel made things difficult and I wasn’t sure it would fit. I ended up cutting and fitting...
A few more pieces of progress…
I got the interior headliner side trim painted and installed. Then both roof rail weatherstrip channels on. It’s been so long since I did this stuff I needed a refresher on how it goes together. Sheesh.
Fancy new roof rail weather strip as well.
I also...
This method ultimately works easier for me. With the headliner moulding in place, it lined up the channel with the screw holes. It really went together well.
Removed the masking and cleaned it off. Added the front windshield trim clips. I was short two clips and screws so I’m assuming the packager miscounted. I’m ready to install the windshield, but I need to clean it and decide if I want to add a tint strip across the top. No sun visors so I’m...
It was sure fun finding all the holes that I covered up with vinyl top material… they’re in and covered with the gasket so it can relax. Wayne, your photos were instrumental in this endeavor.
Thanks! That’s what I thought but the clips didn’t want to go in between the channel and the body. I’ll try to loosen the channel and see if that helps. In my case, the pillar moldings won’t fit due to the cage. I’ll have come up with a solution to finish them off.
Trying to get the rest on this headliner installation sorted. Need to know which goes on first, the roof rail weatherstrip channel or the headliner trim on the inside of that channel. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to do one of these.
The roof rail weatherstrip channel or the long, black interior metal trim strip that covers the edge of the headliner? How many retaining clips are needed for this trim strip?
I put the channel up first. Do I need to remove it or just loosen it to get the other long trim piece in?
