    So who's into tractors

A few photos from the barn today. Grandpa built the barn around 1920, he used cottonwood trees as poles. In the second photo the horse stalls are in the background. Their is a Farmall 450 along with Dads IH 706 (I spent most my time running as a kid), Grandpa's MM U302 propane and Ferguson...

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

Not to my knowledge, only on the front of the cam gear smooth area and that’s got weird numbers some can decipher. I once witnessed at a Mopar speed shop a dial indicator that mounted in the lifter bore and the cam rotated one time to give a height or lift value that was kinda spot on but then...

A black guy drowning is about as predictable as a white guy getting skin cancer. Still, it's a shame. Seems like he was a good dude. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/the-cosby-show-star-malcolm-jamal-warner-dead-54

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

mopar cams in general were not stamped or marked with any useful info. Only way to know for sure is a dial indicator and degree wheel.

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

I can’t remember if the new comp “purple shafts” were actually purple or not. It’s probably an old DC/MP purple shaft. The very early cams had identifiers on them(a system of colored stripes) but by the end of production in the 2000’s there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the markings and...

    Newer cars are stupid.

I really think that the biggest reason that many cars today last well into the 3 to 400,000 range, is mainly due to fact that damn near everything is monitored, yes, but the advent of overdrive transmissions lowering the RPM's the engine runs at when at highway speed.

69 Super Bee 383, Holley brawler kicked on linkage? Does this look correct?

That clunk into R or D could be your u-joints, like ckessel said, or you have some play in the pinion. You could try to reduce your idle speed to see if that helps. That 2-3 clunk you hear is common if the transmission had a TF-2 Shift kit installed in your transmission.

'71 road runner 383 purple cam? - how can I find the model/specs with distributor removed?

Good evening tribe: I'm replacing my worn out distributor with one from Halifaxhops (thanks for the referrals, we spoke this morning) and wondering what type of “purple” cam I have as seen by looking down the hole with the distributor removed. Please see picture below, you can see a purple gob...

I think I read something a while ago about Cadillac offering an optional hologram that would go across the bottom of the windshield if something (like a deer) was detected by the vehicle's sensors, I'm not sure. Something like that would be a good idea from my point of view. I am all for safety.
