It’s mostly the trim package… Has the nicer interior and exterior trim which include the R/T taillights and similar rear finish panel… I have a 68 500 ragtop.

The only deal driving the 5 speed is wind out 4rd a bit. To be honest 95% is 60mph state roads or interstate. The only thing I use this truck for is to tow. The motorhomes are cheap enough its probably going happen.

I color sanded, a 1966 GTO with original paint, GM‘s use lacquer and it cracks. I use an electronic paint thickness tool to help me gauge how much I was sanding off I only used 2000 then 2500 grit paper. But that electronic paint thickness gauge kept me from burning through.
98/99 you can get with no factory steps, no 3rd seat, and a 5.9 with an old style transfer case so you can actually put it in 2wd instead of full time AWD.
You could also get a 2wd version with no 4wd, but not with a 5.9. 2wd 5.2 no 3rd row/steps brings the factory weight down to about 3650, or...
