I feel your pain brother. I stepped in that pile of $hit last year. They are relentless.
I agree with the above. Buy, rent, barrow a trailer and get it yourself. SC to MA sounds like a fun road trip to me.
I just recently road tripped from CO to AR with a buddy to pick up a new enclosed trailer...
AMD was making bumpers 50 years ago?
I think you're missing the point kent.
We are talking about the quality of the repop bumpers. I have originals as well, hence my statement.
Since you obviously have not had to purchase a repop bumper lately you really don't have a valid opinion.
I...
Who said anything about half ***? You never mentioned what kind of shape it was in to begin with. If it was all intact, you f@cked up by tearing into it. If it was just cracked, you could have skim coated, prep and painted as Elk says. If it was all chunked up and coming apart then you're doing...
Certainly much better than the Chinese are cranking out these days. Keep kidding yourself about acceptability. Not to mention the repops are not true triple chromed like the originals.
Let me know if you want some pics.
Is it a new engine?
My resent stroker pegged at ~80 PSI on start up on the dyno but settled down to 50 or so after warm up. Still does after a few warm ups.
My machinist / dyno guy said it is normal. Melling HV pump.
All after market bumpers have flaws. They can't compare to the old fashioned method of straightening and re-chroming the correct way. It used to cost $200 a bumper here in the US back in the "day" to have them re-done correctly.
The environmental activists have pretty much shut the old school...
No, a Rotex Style Turret Punch.
Good call. The interweb is a wonderful thing.
However Cranky inquired as to what it did, not what it is.
I have no F@cking clue.
I assume the Hood was AMD? The best available out there right. I had to put a repop AMD fender on my 68. I had to make about 7 different modifications to it to get to fit semi correctly. It's still only about 97%.
The correct hangers showed up today. See below.
Correct typical B Body on the left / top. Charger only on the right / bottom.
My guess is that TTi figured they could add the weld between the bolt tab and the block (3rd hangar in the second pic below) to give it a little more rigidity. That way...
I suppose that really depends on the block Kiwi. 440s and Hemis, yes.
On a low deck, all of their stuff has fit like a glove for me so far. We'll see about the 3" exhaust this weekend.
I originally wanted to stroke a 440 for this build. My engine designer talked me out of it. Went with a low...
I ordered a correct set today as well. Mega Parts was out of stock as just about everyone else was. Had to pay the Classic Industries premium plus expedited shipping to insure they showed up this week. We have plans to button up the exhaust this weekend. One would think that a $1,000 exhaust...
Exactly. Those hangers that they supply by default are made for the Chargers, not the rest of the B Bodies. The Chargers had an extra frame section to accept them.
The typical B Body does not.
Don't get me wrong, TTi's parts fit like no other's out there. They make awesome products. I will continue to buy from them.
Ran into a minor issue recently with tail pipe hangars that bugs me. The hangars that came with the full header back kit for a 68 Road Runner included the tail pipe...
Pushing hard to be road worthy by June 1st. I hate deadlines but think it’s a good goal at this point. Part delays continue to confound.
Shocks bolted up today. QA1 double adjustable on all four. Coil overs are cool but a little over the top for this build I think, maybe I'm wrong. Easy enough...
