Man weren't we all...
In the 50+ years of doing this stuff, I could write a book.
Only one car I hated that I was glad to get rid of. The rest of them yes,I could kick myself. You just can't keep them all.Though we sure would like to.
Yeah, I talked my neighbor into shipping his box from Nevada to Ohio Steer&Gear saying they had a good rep.
His was a 67 Ford F250. Got it back and it was leaking again in a few months.
Needless to say my neighbor was not happy with me or them. Never again..
I run one of the aftermarket on my 318. I didn't like that it didn't have a lip on it to help retain the hose.
I had fears the hose would pop off. I cut a few grooves to hold the hose and make the clamping secure.
Many said they are just fine as is.
Some of the early ones had a snap ring and a spring behind and the glass would come out.
Later the glass was glued. I believe yours is later.
With the glass out some had 2 screws and spring steel strap that put tension on the ball socket.
That said you just tightened the screws for more tension...
This would most likely be the quickest and easiest. Along with being cost effective.
Are you replacing a Poly 318 ? 66 was a transitional time for Ma Mopar going to the LA engine across the board come 1967.
Some 65 B bodies had a 273 as one of my cars were. 66 it was possible, not sure.
Anyway...
I changed the windscreen in my 63 Belvedere. Much easier with the glass out to (in my case) remove the old clips and install the new.
Love the photos !!
I would say within one year. so if you are buying 4/25 no older than 4/24.
I was buying a set of Cooper's, one date was 5 months old.The other was 4 years old.
The tire salesman said "Don't worry about it" No thanks was my reply.
