62 Valiant, a 64 wagon, and a 58 Coronet parked in front of the wagon. Ironically I own all 3 today.

Getting stuck in 2nd gear shifting to 3rd

Make sure the gearshift levers are squared off, as well as the holes in the operating levers. They wear each other out. Mine would get stuck in second on a brand new shifter because the gearshift levers were worn, no longer squared off. 1/2 lever would put it into 2nd but not take it completely...

    65 belv trans mount?

I needed a trans mount for my 64 318 poly push button. No luck. My 67 bb 4 speed a-body has the same mount except only 1 bolt on the bottom. If it's good for a 4 speed bb, why not a poly auto. Readily available, cheap, bolt in.

rear exterior lower window trim removal?

If it's anything like my 62 there are clips screwed into the body. The clips are in-between the seal/body. Cannot remove clips without removing window/seal. I located the clips with a small pick, and using pressure on either side of each clip carefully popped the trim off.

    Original Motor Mounts

Run the old as is and see what happens, new stuff is garbage, including poly mounts. Another option, drill a hole through the entire mount and put a bolt/locknut on it, do not tighten all the way. I replaced both rubber mounts on my 64 wagon, both made the car vibrate, it took me forever to...

    Shifter issues

Use the KISS principle, check all of the small things mentioned first, including any possible interference of the shift rods at the shifter. Pulling the cover in car is possible. Drain fluid first. Definitely keep track of the position of the cover bolts. IIRC, the 2 long bolts that are fully...

    Shifter issues

I had the same issue, rebuilt trans, new shifter, everything adjusted correctly. Side cover gearshift lever was the problem. The squared off section that the shift linkage lever bolts to wears down causing the linkage lever to turn before the gearshift. Also, the depth of the squared off...

    63' Tapered axle 8-3/4 question

I hear the ball & trunnion driveshaft joint is scary, yet it has been in my 64 for decades, many of those with a ripped boot. Never heard of one fail in a Max Wedge car.

    Axle flange gasket different scenario

I just ordered axles, I find it odd that it does not come with the foam, as the foam usually gets ruined when one pulls the axle.

    Taking Up New Residence

Does the inside fold of the interior trim slide or clip over the same bracket that holds the hardboard headliner up? Bracket is at the 2" to 3" mark on the tape measure. Putting mine back in my 62 hardtop, and it seems it does. Problem is, there is a also the same clip above the back corner of...

Anyone else struggle with ACC carpet?

Not the best pic, black carpet doesn't help, but fit my 62 just fine.

    63' Tapered axle 8-3/4 question

Ditto on my 62, along with 11" drum brake package. Nothing wrong with the 62-63 housing, just swap in new flange axles and they'll also accept 65 and up drum brakes (tapered axle backing plates are slightly different). 64 is too wide, imo, just swapped out my 64 rear with a later one.

Anyone else struggle with ACC carpet?

I have ACC carpet in 4 vehicles, fit absolutely perfect in 3. In one, which was vehicle #3, it seemed to fit at first, but soon realized it probably was for a different year, but too late as I already trimmed it. If I ever get another and it doesn't fit out the box it's going back. All ordered...

62 Plymouth sedan rear seat lower cushion fit ?

My 62 back seat bottom frame. This came out of my 4 door parts car, which I used to replace the rusted one in my 2 door, they were identical. In pic frame is upside down.

62 Plymouth sedan rear seat lower cushion fit ?

The frame could be bent, broken, or rusted. The factory put a large piece of foam under the center section of the seat, but I never understood how that could have added any additional support. Maybe junior used to stand there when riding in the back with no seat belt.

62 Plymouth sedan rear seat lower cushion fit ?

On my Dart 2 door, I had to fix the upholstery job done when I got it back. The back cover was too high up leaving a gap and exposing the staples. Also my lower seat frame was rotted and 'fixed' but I found and replaced with a good frame. After that, I fixed it without any issues.

    383 rebuild parts list advice?

I did 440 Source Stealth aluminum heads with a tunnel ram on a 383, 4 speed car. Extremely drivable, drive it all the time, mounds of torque for reasonable $.
