I'm trying to get the most i can out of a true to form muscle car. The whole idea is you don't need to spend $20k on a bunch of sales pitches from XYZ company selling the latest "geometry correcting" doo-dad and performance enhancement.
I keep saying, these cars don't handle bad as...
Someday i might try a set of Hoosier TDR tires. But yes there are almost no options for a good muscle car sized tire for handling.
Yes I've read that r2's have stiffer sidewalls. And yes you definitely feel them shift in a hard turn. Comparing to my old Cooper cobra tires it feels like there is...
275/50-15's both front and rear and running nitto 555r2 tires. They stick like crazy but you have to get used to the delayed turn in response. My steering box is factory and it has some typical slop. It's all muscle car. Nothing real trick about it. Even has 4 wheel drum brakes which are working...

I was mildly interested simply for Kyle Larson. I didn't watch but would pull up the running order occasionally through the race. Same for the 600. I never sit and watch a race. I'll watch a 10 min highlight and listen to a podcast or 2 next week about it while driving to and from work.
Thread is relevant to my interests. I've always expected about 30hp and 15ftlbs better from trick flow vs anything else out of the box. But if I did some home shop porting I'm curious what I could get back. I'm a budget conscious builder too.
I love 383's. Cam, intake, carb, and headers will put you over 400hp. If you're willing to mess with heads a home port job will get you a fair bit more. Rev like a small block, torque like a big block.
Whatever Chris birdsong has in his charger I'd love to find. They look like sparco or procar seats but are saddle tan and have a similar pattern to original seats.
Same situation for me and it stopped me from putting a shroud on. My cooling is good anyway. I've got the bigger 26" or whatever AC radiator. No chance I could get the filter out without dropping the bar or taking the shroud off.
