    #40 Pete Hamilton Superbird build

Hi Stucat, I apologize for raising an old post, but I'm building a #43 Petty Superbird Race-replica, and if you still have the tubular uprights for the wing, would you be interested in selling them? Or if not, maybe you could take a few photos with a tape measure along side so I could possibly...

    Not even a 70

However, I do like how the nose is molded to the fenders for the clean look. It has the #43 Petty NASCAR Superbird look to it. But it would suck if you needed to pull the nose...

    Not even a 70

Of course it's a clone/fake, but if it was real for 15K it would be fun to drive as you wouldn't have to worry.

    K member stiffening

In my case, I 'firm feel' it was worth it! The engineers did a great job designing a street car, but I plan on racing this car. My LCA's were loose/worn out. And as for the K member, I wanted to stiffen up around the steering box and where the strut rods go through the K member. I'm not...

    Tire guys ... 8" of tire width on a 5 1/2" wheel ?

I use that Tire Size Comparison chart all the time! It's got a ton of information. With the visual comparison it makes a big difference. and you can sort out the tires by wheel diameter, tire height, etc... Then it will have some recommendations on brands and prices across the top. It can be a...

    K member stiffening

I also went through Firm Feel for the K member gusset kit, skid plate and LCA stiffening plates. The LCA's were worn and a little sloppy, but after cutting them loose and welding back together with the stiffening plates, much better. The K-member kit was a fun little puzzle with all the little...

68 charger….. supposed to have fan shroud?

Rebel, From what I'm reading you are correct, it did not come with a shroud. Also, it states that the number you show, 2898045 was used on all big block 4bbl engines mated to an automatic transmission in 1968. So according to this your Charger is an auto?

68 charger….. supposed to have fan shroud?

I have a 68 Charger with a 383 4bbl and AC and mine has the shroud.

68 charger….. supposed to have fan shroud?

Just my 2 cents here, sharing a little information from Paul Herd's Restoration Guide. While there is a bunch of information on radiators, fans, hoses and shrouds, one paragraph states, "Another difference between the 383s and the 440ci models is that all 440ci-equipped models used a fan...

    Routing of front brake lines

I did 5 years on the SSBN 608 and SSBN 726. Then got out and worked for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Naval Submarine Base Bangor working on all the Tridents and Seawolf class boats on the nuc systems for NRMD as a project manager.

    Routing of front brake lines

Congrats! 35 years here and just retired in January. I was on subs in the Navy and have been working on subs in the reactor compartment. So you know I glow in the dark!
