Pearls of wisdom from your dad.

"This is going to hurt me as much..." oh wait that was something else. "You need to install an exhaust fan in that truck." (That was something else too) "Do it right the first time." (Not always the case) "If you don't make a mess as you're working, you don't have one to clean up when...

Do I really have to remove the pan?

Looks like I have a nice puddle under my Charger that I haven't had the pleasure of driving yet. It looks like it the dipstick tube seal. Do I really have to drop the pan, or can I just catch whatever fluid drops? The car is up on jackstands, so working on it isn't so bad, I just don't want to...

What's the best way to clean out the freeze plug water jackets on a big block?

Home project? Pull all the freeze plugs, and pressure wash. You might be able to do it at a diy car wash, but a pressure washer around the house has many uses.

    Glass in vinyl top install

Agree, the headliner will be installed pre glass, I’m just not ready to do the vinyl roof yet, I want to drive the car around without for a while in case I prefer it painted, if I lived in the US I’d take the glass out to install the vinyl roof however as I don’t, the risk of glass damage is...

who to go with engine build

It looks like Earl really knows what he's doing. He would do mine, if I couldn't do it myself (I can). And since your concerned about breakin with a flat tappet cam (frankly, an rv cam should be an easy breakin) I'd ask Pat about what he would charge to break in a motor EYE built. You probably...

    Pressure washing seat belts.

That was pretty much my same process last week. '70 Charger seatbelt restore After a scrub with plastic bristle brush and Dawn dish soap, a rinse in hot water, a bit of time to dry, then I dipped the metal buckles in some WD-40 to remove the moisture. I let some parts soak in EvapoRust to stop...
