Put trans in gear with engine off. Start engine with clutch pedal depressed. Does the car seem like it wants to move a little? If so, something is dragging.
Ok fellas, this is how things went in the 99-degree weather. (My wife is fully convinced I'm nuts, but she's not the one who just bought a 67 Charger and is dying to get it in driving condition). I went to AutoZone, picked up the correct 3/16 nuts, flaring tool and tubing bender. Well, it seems...
Excellent advice. As you can see, I had no choice but to remove it. The rust pits in dash were so deep it took several coats of high build primer with lots sanding between them to fill the pits.
383 HP / Auto / No Air. It was my late brother's car and parked for 40+ years. It was undrivable when I got it a year ago and probably a year from being back together. I'm going to continue on my path of using the 10" drums that were on it. Numbers matching SE that will be back to original / OE...
Did you figure out your interior colors? My brother has a 67 coronet 500 with copper interior. I can ask him about it. I think his kick panels and carpet are both dark brown though. He was sent a saddle carpet by mistake when he ordered his interior, they then sent him out a brown one.
Travis..
Does anyone have any leads for body side mouldings clips and brackets for a 1967 Coronet 500? The ones that are mid way up the door from front to back. Or know of a way to make some sort of bracket/clip system to put the mouldings back on.
Cheers
Hey,
Im Dillon from Alberta, Canada.
Just purchased my first classic car. A 1967 Coronet 500. Originally a 383 car but previous owner put in a 440 with a TF727 Trans.
Lots to learn but the mechanics background helps a lot. Carburetors are new to me! They were way obsolete by the time I went...
Yeah, it’s bad. I find that people have no idea how tight things need to be. I have been into jeeping for 25+ years (dirt roads to the Rubicon trail) and it blows my mind how many people have seriously important pieces parts come loose or fall off of their vehicles. I can’t think of a time that...
What is your car? What engine? How do you drive it? Does it have heavy options like A/C and power windows? Yes disc is much better. 11's have more braking power and take longer to over heat. Front Disc brakes are the upgrade to make. Manual or power, up to your leg power.
No they didn't...
You would think that they would sell the kit as a base kit and allow for the a/c or non a/c box kit as an option. Even if there was a price change between the options.
