ok i got the glass in my hands are sore today . i used 2 trim tools to work the gasket over the glass started at the bottom and 3 inch up the sides . the top corners seemed high so i started in the middle top and worked the rubber to the right and left i got the right corner then finished the...
ok hear are the pictures of sealing the dash and other openings . not a lot just enough to seal water out im working on adding instillation on the roof . so when i get the head liner back in i will do the windshield.
i also filled the 2 spots Kern dog showed . the 2 big openings that the dash meet the windshield frame and the gasket guider on the bottom 3 of them with ultra black silicone.
second around left and right lower a pillar to dash opening i will close with ultra black silicone sealer as i know it will seal to the left of the dash bolt filled to end of dash .
ok 2 spots first right a pillar factory did not set together the top and bottom together right. the left was tight so i filled with ultra black silicone.
i see some declamation of the glass very small at the right Conner and at the bottom in the center of glass. and the left lower along the bottom what you think ?
thank you Kern i wanted to be sure . i have done this 3 - 4 times for these style cars so this will be hard as always but the linseed oil will be better as you and others have said hear lube is your friend so the linseed oil and take your time i will get it done.
Kern Dog if you can tell us the manner he used the linseed oil did he wipe it as he went or did he brush it in the glass channel as we would glass cleaner ?
as i installed classic air system i sealed off the opens on the driver and passenger side on the inside and closed off the cowl so no opening to the inside from the cowl.
i installed mine and i used the soapy water and 3-m glue but the gasket seams small . i ordered a precision gasket as you and dads bee used, the one i got from classic seams short in the coroners . so when i redo mine i will see where i messed up and let ya;ll know. waiting on the gasket and...
ok i got caught in a Florida down pour and inside it looked close to the same as i went down a drive way not just from the side where it had been leaking from the side roof rail weatherstrip as they are o g but as the water ran down the windshield it came down the a/c unit and man i was pissed...
funny thing at Jimmy Buffet's my car and a model t were the oldest there all others were new cars but they all had upgraded the led chasing lights under the hood :screwy:
