    Road Runner Fuel Line

See post #4. The 440 and Hemi cars had the return line with the separator in 68-69, the 383 cars did not. In the last 50 years, some 383 cars have had the return line added. Most of the GTXs I've owned in recent years had it disconnected, with no separator. Significant improvement when I...

Ideas on a larger capacity radiator.......

He's not cheap, but not out of line with the current market for many of us. Compared costs with a fellow FBBO member who recently had his radiator re-cored by Glen Ray, no local shops available. I had my original done locally, at the last shop in my area that still does this work. We both...

    Happy Birthday 66ChargerHI-PO

Happy birthday, and many more! Hope you can get a head start on it at Carlisle next year. :bday::bday:

I remember as a kid, I asked my dad why cops used Mopars.

I became a fan of Plymouth GTXs and Dodge R/Ts when I reached driving age, knowing they were powered by the identical engine used by the PA state police in their full size Fury II's. Even in the full size cars, they had the same unbeatable exhaust sound. I always assumed cost was a factor in...

    SKIN CANCER IS NASTY STUFF

Wishing you a complete recovery, and thank you for the public warning. With Carlisle just behind many of us here, your message was well timed. My wife hounded me for years about getting too much sun exposure on the show field (I've attended every year since the first one.) I made adjustments...

My wife said I skipped town.....

Mine chooses not to attend, but supports the process. A few years ago my daughter got aggressive, and tried to schedule a family event that would conflict with Carlisle. Wife said, dad dies and inhabits heaven for a few days with that event, and then we get him back when it’s over. A win for all.

Friends that you had to let go.

I almost got through Carlisle without meeting one. Then I drove the GTX to the tent to load my ice chest. I thought the goof was going to get run over. Barely got out of the car before he told me he had one like it back in the day, but he sold it before they were worth anything. But now he has...

'It’s Watermelon Season!' Actress Valerie Bertinelli Posts Bizarre 'Cry for Help' Video

This leads me back to my original position. She needs to feel the pain of us “working folk.”

Who has dared to drive across country in a classic Mopar?

My experience as an over the road truck driver for 25 years backs up everything Randy has put out there. He's sharing the reality, not the ideal. I've been waiting for someone to mention driving out, and shipping the car back. A high school friend of mine did this a few years ago after...

'It’s Watermelon Season!' Actress Valerie Bertinelli Posts Bizarre 'Cry for Help' Video

Shame on me for assuming she was financially well off when I reacted to an earlier post. No question actresses deal with a limited shelf life, physical looks are short lived human capital. Many don't manage earnings during their prime years effectively. Saw the same process in my law school...

Who's B-body is that? Claim it! Carlisle 2025

My first trip to California, in 1981, I was in awe of how many nice ones were still on the road. By that time, just about everything in the Pennsylvania snow belt was turning to rust particles. Any Mopar that survived that long in that environment had a unique story of shelter and maintenance.

Who's B-body is that? Claim it! Carlisle 2025

If the Demonstrator hadn't crossed my path in 1969, I would have been squarely in your camp with a green '68 Charger R/T. I remember telling Bill Clark that it was his particular car that pushed my buttons, rather than GTXs as a whole. I retreated toward my initial preferences when I bought the...

Repo 69 GTX Trunk Panel - Quality & Where to Buy?

Here’s the 5000 mile original that was removed from the car, and the Krusin Moons restored piece that replaced it, mounted on the car. Configuration was identical. The original has slightly more sparkle in the argent paint, hard to tell unless it's side by side with the restored piece. I'm...

    Wheel Wednesday

I think a pair of these gold plated billet wheels would look good on my part time ride, but they would cost more than my daily driver. I'm guessing the manufacturer provided them for free as a marketing move, when the actress was starring in a reality show. Now, she only uses them for red...

Repo 69 GTX Trunk Panel - Quality & Where to Buy?

Bill, I'll snap some for you later today. I had one of the Metro pieces on GTX number five, and the panel fit to the trunk lid was off as well. I'll dig out the 5000 mile original that came off the car for a comparison. I'm guessing the ribs got ground down because of pits on redone examples.

Who has dared to drive across country in a classic Mopar?

I did things backwards. I drove my '66 Imperial from California to Chicago solo. Twenty years later, I took my friend Bob as a co-pilot for a 1500 mile ride in a non-a/c, 3:54 dana GTX. He appreciated the fact we weren't riding in his '68 Camaro. He said the GTX was in a different universe...

Not surprising, you take it to the next step. Mine was done with pop rivets.

    1968 Plymouth GTX

Your cam specs are pretty close to what I put in my fifth GTX. Car had a Hemi grind purple shaft when I bought it. I liked the replacement better, worked well on the street with an otherwise stock engine. I saw your car has manual brakes, so the 108 lobe center won't pose a vacuum issue.

WTB Looking for another car that tickles my tastebuds

Looking at the average age of the group at the Carlisle tent, that could be sooner rather than later.:(

    Bought a 70

Interesting to see your quarter panel to roof fabrication. When I had Baby Blue painted in 1985, stripping to bare metal revealed a similar process, which had been performed in the 70s. I know it works, because it was still sound over 40 years later.
