    Good news. If the breather is truly plugged, the squealing was likely from air being sucked in the crank seal.

    I think RemCharger nailed it. I removed the breather (temporarily of course), drove the car and got it up to operating temperature. Squealing is gone. I believe the breather was plugged up and not allowing fresh air to enter the crankcase. I sprayed carb cleaner into the breather and swished...

    Supposedly 512, it also had the rear axle moved 2.5" forward along with the wheel wells, hence the "busy" paint job, motor setback 1", staggered wheels for greater rollout on the starting line. All this is talk from over the years.

    as stated above...... I remove the lead, repair the metal, and weld it solid...... I like Marine Tex grey for a base filler over my welds
