    Orange ignition module

Other question is have you had issues with condensers? Reading posts that say condensers go bad and some say no issues with them.

Points or no points? That is the question.

Same here. I only do a couple thousand a year from cool to hot days.

    Orange ignition module

Do you know if anyone manufactures a Prestolite distributor? Or have to go scrappin' and have one rebuilt. Is the Mopar Essex coil still made? My Blue Streak coil spilled its guts. Not sure if it doesn't like being mounted on the manifold or is this a case of electronic ignition without...

Points or no points? That is the question.

Today I got heat that feels like 96. Other posts say they have issue with aftermarket condensers. I'm trying to get to the bottom of which is best for cruising on the hottest summer day to a comfy fall foliage cruise.

Points or no points? That is the question.

Reading over previous posts from years gone by about return vehicle back to points to avoid nuisance shutdowns from electronic ignition 'upgrade'. Now to learn about condenser issues from after market with points distributor. Well today on a hot New England cruise it happened after 2 years of...

    Craftsman engine analyzer

I haven't tuned a motor since high school shop 45 years ago. Came upon this Craftsman at a yard sale for $12. Do you think it's any good (will have to do a little homework) for any adjustments to a electronic ignition and edelbrock carb on a stock 66 440?

    There you go, positive input.

    Orange ignition module

Why the negative reply to a fellow club member? I would bet you couldn’t tell the difference starting or driving a car with electronic or a points ignition without popping the hood.

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

Problem: installed new oil pump, started engine and had no oil pressure. Solution: prime oil pump with assembly lube before installing new oil pump. Lesson learned, dry oil pump will not draw oil from pan.

    Idle pressure. Thanks again.

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

Phew. A big thanks to FBBO'rs for the insight on oil pump install. Was thinking the worse, spun bearing, dropped or blocked pick up, motor rebuild. Funny that Ma's repair/maintenance manual makes no mention of priming new pump. But it does make complete sense. Thanks again and happy holidays.

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

I just installed a new Rockauto Mellings oil pump.

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

Would Permatex Anti-Seize lube be too thick for priming the oil pump? I use it mainly on fasteners.

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

Does STP make a thick Vaseline like product?

    Bummer! No oil Pressure

Same here. 45 years of doing my own oil changes. The problem I'm having is engine lost oil pressure, changed pump (440) and still no pressure. Reaching out for other ideas what causes pressure loss. I welcome ideas on making install is correct.
