Are you looking for tinted or clear? I have a clear that maybe could be buffed out? I don’t know, never removed glass scratches before, but it definitely has some
I put an AMD rear glass in a 1969 a couple months ago……it fits fine, but as said before, contours are off. I had looked for a OE for a while and couldn’t find a tinted one anywhere. It’s the best option we have for now. Wouldn’t be too hard or costly to switch out later if you ever did find...
As boss302 says, careful taping off of chrome and surface prep is key. I lightly blasted all areas that needed paint. My chrome is not nearly as nice, but the painted parts came out great. 877 paints has exact paints and textures. I highly recommend calling him and he will walk you through...
Wow! Great looking car….definitely better with them on. You have all convinced me. I appreciate Eldubb letting me know the OER trims fit good, but I ordered an AMD set last night, so I will let you all know how they fit…..hopefully soon!
Thanks, I see that Classic Industries sells OER moldings, and AMD looks to have sell their own ones. The mouldings originally on my car are anodized aluminum. Should they have been stainless steel? The moldings for the Charger specifically say stainless steel, but descriptions for the...
Can’t decide if I should put wheel opening moundings back on or not. My originals are too far gone, so I would be looking at repops. Can anyone tell me how the repops fit? I have tried to reuse as many original parts as I can because I have been disappointed with most reproduced parts thus...
I have not talked with Barry since noticing the blistering. My local rep is just as helpful, but no matter what they say, the clear coat is still failing and the only solution at this point would be a repaint. It may be the product, or it may be me, but either way me and that product don’t...
It was a daily driver that sat outside in full sun. I used their “production clear” on that one. Before noticing the blistering, I painted another car with their “universal clear” with hopes of this holding up better, but too soon to tell.
I had problems with SPI blistering after 4 years in the AZ sun. It was tacked off correctly and within the time frame. Great people and super helpful, but I don’t think I will use it again.
I am putting my doors back together, and wanted to make sure I am correct on installing the keyed door locks so that the key is inserted with the jagged cut portion of the key facing up.... is this correct?
Now that I have my paint buffed out I have begun reassembly, I didn’t get very far before I realized that my memory is much worse then I thought!......this probably won’t be the last thread with me asking the same question of “where does this part go?”
I had this part labeled “front fenders”...
I recently upgraded my paint gun to an
Anest Iwata Lph400......an amazing gun! I could not believe how flat the paint came out even from the very first time I used it. My local paint store matched online pricing at around $350. I had been painting for a couple years with a moderately...
I have been taking my time and carefully sanding, checking often, and stopping as soon as it is flat. Haven't needed to go more agressive then 1500 so far except for a small spot or two where 1000 knocks it down faster, then follow up with 1500. I did get a pack of Trizact 3000 and did one...
Thanks for the replys. I sprayed 4 coats of clear, and I don't think it is an issue of not spraying past the panel ends. I think like KD says, it is just builds up a little more around the edges as the clear flows out. I will use a paint stick and sand flat around the edges and see if I can...
Hello, to say I am anxious about taking sandpaper to my newly painted car is an understatement....but I am proceeding slowly after reading/watching others do it. My paint came out quite flat, so I am hand sanding with 1500 grit on a 6” thin durablock. It is taking very little effort to...
I purchased a complete bumper kit from Detroit Muscle Technologies. There are no numbers on any of their bumpers. Their kit did include two smaller, more rounded bumpers that look like they would fit better in the post #8 pic. Maybe DMT includes it in order to have one kit cover a wider...
