When remove the trans crossmember the whole thing will tip down in the back. Be careful with the harbor freight trans jack. Coming down they have a tendency to just drop. Keep fingers and any other body parts out of scissors area just in case. Once trans is out modify mounting plate for shifter...

Looking for a set of Asbestos lining 11 x 2 1/2 rear brake shoes for my 69 A12. Craig currently has no inventory. I don’t care what brand or if they are re lined as long as they are old school asbestos linings. I think the bendix number was a 446 shoe. Thanks Dan.

When in doubt, it's customary to do it at TDC and realign as outlined in the FSM.

It was a tongue-in-cheek comment....but I hear your laughter anyway. I have put my fair share of balls out of the course of play - hit the side of a house one Sunday morning - put a hole in the asbestos siding. We could see the ball on the ground, and my buddies couldn't stop laughing...

Use a flathead screwdriver, stick it in the slot, and twist. It'll raise up above the cam gear, then use a magnet or needle nose to pull it the rest of the way out. Be sure the intermediate shaft goes back in with the slot pointed the same direction.
