I am trying to understand all of this and am not assigning blame. I simply do not know what is wrong and almost every that step that I make results in one thing: The headlights and doors worked perfectly fine before and now they do not. WHY is the question. Figuring out why is not so simple.
I...
This is rules out the relaykit. If the wiring isn't connected to the switch there should be no voltage to trigger. Something is hunting as 1 wild R/T mentioned as well. It's leaking voltage from somewhere. I might suggest you start pulling fuses from the box to see if the lights go out...
...that the Siemens and Bosch are both quality parts. I also like the metal mounting tab on the Siemens relay.
I am considering the headlightrelaykit that FBBO member "CRackedBack" sells. Plug and play with no modifications to the headlight wiring.
On DodgeCharger.com, there is a thread about...
My Mopar family, thought I'd put together a list of products that I have used on this restoration, since I'm not quite ready to be back to work on it.
Front and Rear fiberglass bumpers from Stinger Fiberglass/AAR Quality Fiberglass($184.00 ea)
All new seals, weather strips, and hardware from...
...And also my lights always dim when the idle speed gets below around 1200, I'm thinking the headlightrelaykit that member here, crackedback, sells might solve some of my issues??,
So if I understand you (and NHTSA), if your car came off the assembly line with sealed-beam headlamps, it must always and forever have a one-piece headlamp. It can never have a lens/reflector assembly with a removable bulb like most modern US-market cars since ~1986 and most Euro-spec cars...
I don't know the crackedback kit, but it is pretty straightforward. I ordered my relaykit at the same time I ordered new headlights.
Unless the kit you are talking about is made specific to your car you will get a more stock look by making your own harness, like I did. I just cut the headlight...
Headlightrelaykits that are essentially plug and play.
There is a substantial increase in voltage at the headlight, increasing light output performance. Light output degrades exponentially with voltage input reductions. These kits also take headlight amp loads off the fragile bulkhead...
You can buy H4 headlightrelay harness off eBay for $45 bucks and Octane also sell good conversion kit.
For me, I went way more complex and highend. It all started when I realized the headlight were only 9 volts going to the headlights. I found 12 volts at the bulk head and 12 volts at the...
Finally time to get the headlightrelaykit from Crackedback installed, noticeable difference and well done kit.
Also replaced the spark-plugs and all new 45° boots on the passenger side as the headers burned out 3, went for a long cruise tonight and the car runs, drives and idles better...
I build my kits FOR our mopars. They are not a one size fits all. There are things you DO NOT want to do that many of the lower cost kits do not address. I have a database of lengths for placing relays under the battery tray for a hidden installation. Many that are particular are about...
The LED bulbs cost over $100 each and require a new headlamp housing like the ones Octane Lighting or other companies sell. However, theses usually require cutting either the headlight bucket or the radiator support or both due to the larger backend. Here's a picture for illustration purposes...
Halogen is probably the simplest upgrade (Hella brand should be close to a proper fit) but will require relays as they use more power than traditional incandescent bulbs. Im working on LED conversion now but this requires extensive cutting of the headlight buckets and at least on the 67 Coronet...
