Your driving experience, suggests to me that the lower control arm bushings might be the culprit. You should change them regardless while you are overhauling. Ragnar in Iceland

Thanks for asking. My best e.t. on regular tires (Firestone Firehawk 500) is 11.63 @117 mph. Car has a mellow 451 stroker and a 4.10:1 SG. Charger was imported new to Iceland. I´ve owned her since 1979.
