Nice numbers Goon - Power to the Mopar!
We have been having a Dyno Day in Billings MT for the past 4-5 years, it has gotten to be quite a competition. My car only made 377WHP but I know my car was running pretty rich and my rev limiter was set to 5400, so there might be a little more there...
thats awesome! doesn't seem like a bad price either. what made you decide on CME? I can't wait for the day that I am ready to order mine. Did you ever consider a 2 4 barrel hemi? I haven't decided which way I'm gunna go yet.....6 pack or hemi
Myself and a few other people on here have purchased crate motors from CME
I haven't taken delivery of mine yet but there are some threads about them if you do a search
...look better than I anticipated I was actually worried they were going to "french up" the car
Got everything sorted except the timing gear which CME has agreed to send me the replacement parts for (they also offered to do the repair if I could bring them my motor but clearly that doesn't...
Wow, that dash lighting looks like something out of the Tron movie. Very cool!
I've been thinking about a CME motor myself. In fact I believe that same one you have. If you don't mind me asking, what was the total price on that baby?, shipping and all.
Your bird is SWEET!!! looking forward to seeing it boosted
Joe

This is the 5.7 I am building for Krissy's(wife) 67 barracuda. Not a B or E but an A My opinion its mopar or no car.
forged rotating assembly
ported 6.1 heads and manifold
bigger 6.1 cam.
Mike if this wasn't...
...am not that trusting. I should also state that most builders were more than welcoming for my presents.
To shorten this story up I chose CME (Carolina Machine Engines) for several reasons. 1) they were the only builder to offer a warrantee, not promises but a written warrantee. 2)...
Myself and a couple other guys on here have gone with Carolina Machine Engines (CME) They're currently building my 522ci 525hp/625torq Stroker which seems fairly comparible to the killer crate for about 4 grand less

Also from what I have read/heard stay far away from...
...all snug and just picked up my Pulley's from the powder coaters! Looks like the integrated shroud on my rad is going to be a tight fit but hopefully will work out ok! Also just trying to get an answer from CME for what they would set total advance at before initial startup! Getting Close!
Is the CME version a Magnum?
IIRC they list the Magnums as "high torque" rebuilds, and don't specify any numbers.
That leads me to believe their SBM motors are LA.
Agreed. Price compare the swap(s) you are contemplating and the cost to rebuild what you have before making a commitment. Include ALL parts! I think you will find rebuilding what you have will be the least expensive - least modifications way to go.
Had my 727 completely rebuilt for about...
Now that you mentioned balancing I ask CME if they purchase pre balanced stroker assemblies? They said that they prefer to balance the rotating assemblies themselves. Whether balancing the assemblies does not take that much more time than to verify a prebalanced unit or it is a revenue thing...
Just got back from the shop and my first look after taking delivery of my new engine from CME
Really happy with how CME packaged all the components in their original packaging separately for shipping (Quickfuel Carb, MSD Ignition, Plug wires, etc..)
I was on the fence about the motor being...
...bad news about the 440 in my 74 RR, and a month of research choosing between a crate engine and a custom built one I ordered my crate engine from CME this morning, thanks to another 8" of snow and some free time, lol. I ordered the 522cu/525hp with upgraded roller cam, flywheel and 6 pack...
IMO like colorado i would never buy a motor unless they did just Mopar, CME does every brand. thus why i went with muscle motors for my stroker kit, they are just Mopar, and very good at it too.
...3. The engine timing is still not right, or I'm fighting some other issue... I'm debating on tearing down the engine or just waiting it out until my bonus check comes through in March and buying a crate engine from someone like CME or buying a 440 block and having a local shop do the machine...
...as I have put some miles on. I went with the 522ci 525hp/625 torq for 7k I expect delivery within the next 6 weeks (give or take) but will not be able to drive the car till Spring given I'm in the Great White North.
I will say though up to this point CME has been fantastic to deal with,
Mike
