Correct timing light for MSD ignition

My old chrome Craftsman works just fine for my MSD. I think I've only had mine for about 29 years or so.

    Need a new connector

Ah yes...it occurred in my 71 while attempting to start for the first time after winter with apparently a less than stellar battery. And also yes...red wire.

    Need a new connector

I replaced my ignition switch, but am having a crappy connection. The harness side connector is a little distorted from getting hot due to the short in the old switch. I don't want to just hard splice it together. Anyone know where I can get a new connector and some pins?

    What is this switch?

My best guess is the buzzer?

    What is this switch?

Just curious what this switch is? It's inside my steering column and is physically connected to the ignition lock cylinder. Has 2 red wires in the connector for the ignition switch that connects to 2 black wires. Just replaced my ignition switch and was curious about this switch. I ohmed it out...

Thanks Pabster! How happy are you with the Cooper Cobra's?

    '71 Charger Wheel/Tire Selection

Currently leaning towards 15x7 up front wrapped in 235/60R15 and a 15x8 out back with 275/60R15. As far as tires themselves go I'm kicking around BFGoodrich Radial T/A's, Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T's, or Cooper Cobra GT's.

    '71 Charger Wheel/Tire Selection

Yeah...I'm not sure how I came up with 215/60R15? That may have been a typo lol I want it to have enough rake to look mean, but not be too ill handling.

    '71 Charger Wheel/Tire Selection

Well, the tires are 215/70R14 all the way around. The tread is like new, but the rubber is so old that it keeps spinning around on the wheel leaving me with flats and that's not cool. So, I at least need new tires. I've always liked the Magnum 500's and especially like wide rear tires. I figured...

    '71 Charger Wheel/Tire Selection

Nice pic! You've got me rethinking the 15X10....besides, the tires that I want have a maximum recommended wheel width of 9.5" and by going 15X8 in the rear will save me about $200.

    '71 Charger Wheel/Tire Selection

Hey everybody! I know I'm pretty quiet around here, but I'm in need of some assistance. I've got a 1971 Dodge Charger SE that's about to get new wheels and tires. I'm not really sure what I want yet though. I'm thinking some Magnum 500's from Wheel Vintiques in a 15X10 for the rear with a...

    Hemi oil weight and brand

The Pennsylvania oils (Pennzoil, Kendall, Quaker State, Brad Penn) were technically better oils as long as you kept up with them. The problem was though, many people didn't. Crude oil found in Pennsylvania is special oil. Unlike most oil that is asphalt based, PA oil is parrafin based. Regular...

    Clutch Issues!!!

I stuck with the Borg & Beck style. This here is the one I'm currently dealing with http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SAC0/K185805/01351.oap?year=1971&make=Dodge&model=Charger&vi=1079254&ck=Search_01351_1079254_1034&pt=01351&ppt=C0015 I may order the 10.5" that the book says goes in the...

    Clutch Issues!!!

Believe me....I love LuK clutch sets and that is the brand I prefer to use in FWD applications, but according to them, they don't make one for my 383. My original plan was to use a store brand clutch until I get a chance to pull my engine for a complete rebuild next winter. I ran a shop here in...

    Clutch Issues!!!

Hey guys! New to the site here and I already need some help. I've got a 1971 Dodge Charger SE with a 383 4 barrel VIN N with an A-833 4 speed transmission. Both the engine and transmission are original. I've had the car since March and have been steadily making tweaks, repairs, and upgrades so...
