...feather fill. Both are very easy to work with and sand.
I will be honest, Im just a 40 hr per week bodyman and I use stud guns & hammers , dollies & filler sometimes a lot of it.
Im not chip fooseball and I dont have the time to massage welded in patchs & dents to the point were no filler...
I don't think I've seen it explained yet, but there is no suspension on most dollies.
They use the suspension of the car.
That's why there's the bouncing when empty, and why you don't want to put anything besides a car with working suspension on one.
Your panel doesn't look that bad and you may be able to use some dollies to get it straighter and then a skim coat.
If you do go the replacement route , lucky for you the area you need is not the area that typically rusts out. Your best bet will be to find someone with a parts car and get that...
...point which is the first thing to happen comes out last. A trip to your local autobody supply shop should provide you with the necessary dollies, hammers, and shoes to get things close. Certainly use a dent puller as suggested but only after you have exhausted the hammer and dolly method...
...I first posted the initial pictures. Did a bit of digging. Knocked around the frame rails to the degree I could reach with the car on wheel dollies (which was quite a bit despite laying on the freezing concrete floor). Also after watching that video that was posted (and a lot more in the...
...up to get the engine bay sandblasted and painted next weekend.
My biggest hurdle was how to move the car. I didn’t want to buy expensive dollies for the front end, and let them get ruined with sandblasting and paint, so I decided to try and make some. I picked up some box tubing, angle iron...
Thank you all for the replies. I talked with the media blaster today and was told that they have their own dollies so it didn't matter how I brought it.
MoparLeo, I did check into mobile blasters, but none guarantee against warping panels, while the place I am taking it to does, which is a...
...A local auto glass company is who I'm getting to do it. Bill for pilkington glass and install is $417. I have a new gasket ready and I took it off the dollies and lowered it down to make it easier for them. I'm putting the trim back on myself, not that I don't trust the installers but I don't.
...the factory style towing mirrors and I'm just not that good!). My Satellite is to the left of the truck, tucked in the corner; I have wheel dollies to roll it sideways to get it in and out. Eventually I want to change that garage door to an 18' double-bay door so both spots can simply drive...
...and I, undertake pulling the drivetrain and front suspension out from under the car in preparation for paint & body..
Various process shots of drivetrain removal, front bumper and valance along with complete rear suspension then dollies mounted...
Enough for a hot & humid Texas weekend..
If you want a real engine dolly with heavy duty casters then you need to contact either US Car Tool or Bob Mazzolini Racing. They both have versions of the engine dollies that I used to make.
...I work at it, I really do. I'm actually pretty organized and very clutter conscious. Hell I just gave a friend a spare full set of car dollies just to get them out of the way.
But then when ever my wife comes out to the shop the first thing she says is "you've got allot of ****".
She just...
